Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Rooney's hamstring is going to have a huge bearing on where the title ends up this season

Job done, poorly, but done. Again, another poor performance from United. Really haven't found a grove this season going forward. Thankfully our defence is awesome at the moment.

    Ahem Evra....Ahem.

Obv Rooney getting injured too but I stand by my point, without Evra we are vastly inferior going forward.

Defence was great, can't say that for the attack though.

If Utd had'nt got vidic today they would have conceded at least once. The man is a rock :(

Yes! Job done. Watch out Liverpool. United on the march.

I'm watching alright, but based on what I saw tonight the title race is further from the conclusion the arrogance of a lot of United fans would have you believe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,975 ✭✭✭nkay1985

For all Wigan had in the second half in particular they never really troubled. And had Tevez not fluffed that chance and Berba's shot been 6 inches to the right it's a very different result and very different reactions from people.

I think they did ok and were probably good value for the win. It's ominous when you see United grinding out wins...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,608 ✭✭✭Spud83

    Very disappointed with performance.

Wigan are a good team who are bang in form but I don't think they played particularly well either.

We were just poor and IMO it was in the center of the park where the problem lay. Both Carrick and Scholes weren't at it all. Nani was poor. O'Shea struggled all evening.

Vidic easily man of the match, and probably our best player the season so far.

Got the three points and all we can't keep performing like this.

Bolton with no Rooney could be tough a United boogey team

There's a long way to go no doubt. I'd be worried about Rooney's injury and would hope he's not out for too long. Without him the team looks uninspired up top.

love the way also that carrick and scholes were our 2nd choice centre mids based on sundays match... haha what a squad we have!

My bad, wasn't trying to tar everyone, I did say a lot. Judging by certain other match/team threads, you'd be forgiven for thinking that United were 1 point ahead at the top of the table. I'm sure there are more cautious fans knocking around, but they're not as noisy as the others. ;)

If i was you I'd rather the hamstring snap than anything happen to vidic for any length of time.

simply unbeatable, and will win utd more points than rooney will

Even with us off the pace up front I don't remember a United side I have ever felt so comfortable watching at 1-0. Even without Ferdinand and Evra tonight I just didn't get that sinking feeling that an inevitable last minute equaliser was coming I used to get over the last few years (even when they didn't happen :pac:)

Isn't that right Des ya little post whoring, attention seeking, wannabe celebrity. The BB auditions were on this week. Did ya go?

Unfortunately we are already impressed by his work rate. Its lack of consistent quality that annoys me anyway.

SSN reporting Rooney out for three weeks.

    Thanks alan

    3 weeks ffs

so he'll miss bolton, derby and spurs right?

It always happens Rooney, starts going on a scoring run and gets an
injury. The lad has such bad luck

    BTW how did Nani play

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,608 ✭✭✭Spud83

Fergie said in his post match minimum of three of weeks for Rooney as its a hamstring.

Singled out Vidic for special praise "If you see a better center half performance you would be very very luckily".

Tevez was injured and limped through the last 20 minutes.

Felt that in previous season there have always been 1-0 results that you look back on at the end of the season and think they were important. Feels tonight was one of those games.

Felt that because of the big game on Sunday and the concentration levels needed that it may have had an effect tonight. But he said he tried to freshen it up with Nani, Scholes and Carrick. Sounded disappointed when mentioning these. Especially using the word tried, instead of we did freshen it up with Nani, Scholes, and Carrick.

    BTW how did Nani play

    shíte.

Rooney will miss more than that.

Bolton 14th, Derby 20th, Spurs 24th, West Brom 27th, and possibly Everton on Feb 2nd. Next game then is West Ham on the 8th.

Remember though that this is Fergie basing it on the fact he felt his ham string. I imagine they will have to have a proper look/scan tomorrow and it could be worse or maybe a slightly better.
