    Hey,

    Not sure if there's anyone who shares the same issue; but I'm with NTL/UPC in the Dublin 15 area and my pings are highly erratic.

    It's now 2am and the following are some ping times to boards.ie;
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=59
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=46ms TTL=59
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=31ms TTL=59
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=59
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=10ms TTL=59
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=14ms TTL=59
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=12ms TTL=59
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=38ms TTL=59
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=24ms TTL=59
    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=15ms TTL=59

    Ping statistics for 89.234.66.107:
    Packets: Sent = 10, Received = 10, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 10ms, Maximum = 46ms, Average = 25ms

    I've also tried some tracerts but the times are also highly erratic and don't seem to be tied down to a particular hop; other than the first in the route.

    Anyone else out there with similar issues? Anyone with any suggestions or thoughts?

    After looking through a few more traces; it seems like it's the first hop where the delay is being introduced. I didn't notice whilst I was looking through the traces but the hop where the delay is introduced would seem to be an internal NTL/UPC address in the private address range; is there therefore some chance that if I contact them they may do something about it?

    Some examples below...
    Tracing route to www.boards.ie [89.234.66.107]
    over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.1
    2 9 ms 8 ms 27 ms 10.91.224.1
    3 11 ms 25 ms 32 ms 089-101-162081.ntlworld.ie [89.101.162.81]

    I wouldn't classify a ping range under 100 as highly erratic. Is your connection to the router wired or wireless?

    Those ping times look fine to me.

    My ping times to speedtest are never under 100ms, usually around 140ms or so and my speedtests are usually rubbish. I'm on the 20mb connection and I get about 2mb on average. Anyone else getting rubbish speeds? I used to get over 10mb all the time and usually around 15mb+ but the last few weeks have been terrible in D15 in Waterville Area

    I honestly wouldn't call those pings erratic either, if they were 30ms and then 150ms etc then I would but there pretty ok tbh
