New Car suggestions

Hello fellow recession busters

I'm thinking of buying a new car, and am willing to spend around €35k on it. I have a 07 Leon that I could trade in too. But what would be a good car to get?

I want one with mucho horsies under the bonnet (200+), and something thats a bit cool. Any ideas? Should I try sell what i have privately or trade it in? Petrol or diesel? etc etc

Any suggestions or advice? I've nothing particular in mind at the minute.

A friend of mine recently bought a 07 BMW 320d from Belfast, a place called Boucher road just 2 mile south of the city close to the M1. She's bought it and imported it for little over 20K. Seems like going north is a good idea while the exchange rate is so low....

Is this a new car as in a 09 or a new car as in something different to your own?

If its a 09, look at the Octavia VRS petrol or diesel. The diesel is running 170bhp, and the petrol is 200bhp i think.

If its a second hand "new" car, then any of the cars mentioned above would be decent enough.

new or used?

if used you shoould be able to get a very tidy 03 bmw m3

yes - we are mainly importing direct from the UK for customers - you should order something from the UK and get the best for your money. Lets say €10000 for the VRT and €25000 for the car; you have a whole load of choice.

Low co2 are the Audi - so lets say an audi a4 s-line
also BMW 320 D SE are a good bet, full leather ect
Merk are terrible for C02 thus get hammered on the VRT

Just clear things up here:
Its 35k or cash along with the Leon up to 35k or so.
And its for a spanking new 09.

I'm thinking along the lines of the Leon Cupra K1. Can import it with all VRT and other related legal pick pocketing costs included for €32k. Would need to get rid of what I have then.

i dont think buying a new car is the way to go to take advantage of the recession to be honest

Well I'd prefer a 09. Demo models and 2nd hand are coming in at around 30k so for 2 more I'd have new one

How about a Leon FR. Think the new common rail diesel engine is in it now. Thats if you are happy with the Leon. Also maybe a VW Scirocco?

Which Leon exactly has the common rail diesel in it? Got any specs?
