    Another 0-0 draw for Bray!
Hope they find their scoring boots soon!
Not a bad away draw though!

Ah it's a great draw away to Drogs. Tough game and it's great to pick up points on the road. At least we know the defence is well drilled this season!

Watching the Man City match at moment, into extra time at the moment.
Hope it goes to penalties as I love peno shoot outs (once Liverpool are not involved), I've already seen two in the last week!

Was watching this myself but I fell asleep just before the peno shoot out, very annoying :o

Liverpool V Chelsea again in the Champions League. They always seem to draw each other!

What a day for Irish sport yesterday and last night. The rugby boys were excellent and Bernard Dunne showed some heart to win the world title. It was edge of the seat stuff all day yesterday. Thanks lads for a day not to be forgotten:)

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,325 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

I'm not a big Rugby fan, find the sport boring if I'm honest but it was a great achievement on saturday although they did everything possible to try and lose it. Three good fights saturday night too and three Irish wins. Dunne really gave it his all and he did everything right. Was fantastic stuff.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,003 ✭✭✭ratinakeg

Yes Dunne was brilliant the other night! I never thought he would win but fair play!

Masters Football is on at the moment comprised of All Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. Ireland are already through to the final but have rested all their players for the final match in which they have lost 2-1 to Wales. If Ireland won England would've qualified, Ireland now meet Wales again in the final. Brilliant stuff!:)

Ireland won 2-1 in the final!
Ireland were booed throughout the final as a result of what happened in final group match!
Peter Beagrie was nearly crying as he commentated on the final!:D

Maybe the early goal put us off !

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,325 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Yeah i was at it. We were terrible in the first half and slightly better in the second. McGeady should have buried his chance and Doyle at the end should have scored too. I thought Keane and Hunt had very poor games.

    Very disappointing result.

I hope so to but cant really see it. After sitting through 90 minutes of that crap on wednesday I dont hold much hope. Only one good think they have going for them is that they always play better against better teams. that is they never have the ball so dont need to think about what they should do with it. And this is from someone who goes to all the home games. Often wonder why but just cant keep away!

We did well, we won 4-2 in the end

    went 3-0 up
then i was up to play liam redden (dublin county player), i gave him a good game but lost 2-0, literally like in the second leg i hit 100, 81, 81 to leave 52 and i didnt even get a shot

they won the next one but we won the last to progress to the semi finals

We play Anto Caldwells men next (think their team name is Micheal Collins, Anto Caldwell being another dublin county player)

Colmchiles A are in the other Semi Final, Potentially an All ColmChilles Final :D

Looking forward to the game tonight. i honestly think that we have it in us to grab a draw out there. The one thing Trap's system allows us to do is defend well and the Italians are not exactly known for there silky attacking skills. A 0-0 bore fest would suit me fine. McGeady being out is a play but Keogh isn't given enough credit for what he does, he puts in a great shift whenever he plays and is much stronger defensively than McGeady.

I'm not a fan of Trap's tactics or selection policy but it could definitely work in our favour tonight. We desperately need to keep it at 0-0 for the first half hour then anything can happen.

I backed a 0-0 draw at 8/1 on paddypower... Heres hoping, although i wouldn't mind losing my stake if they won!

bulgaria 1-0 up at half time. Very bad decision by the ref at the end of the half, he booked the Cypriot player for diving when it could easily have been a red card for the Bulgarian player. Cyprus definitely have the ability to score so hope they can nick a goal!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,182 ✭✭✭dionsiseire

Bulgaria win 2-0, last minute goal to seal the win

    ive the following down

5e on draw at HT/ ireland win FT @ 14-1
5e on John o Shea first scorer
5e on Ireland to win 2-1
and if it ends 0-0 PP will refund the second 2 so 10 back if we get the 0-0 draw everyone thinks we might get

Yeah watched this match myself the ref botlled on giving him the red card, it was a blatant professional foul the cypriot lad was in and would of scored:mad:How on earth the cypriots didnt score in the 2nd half was beyond me:eek: they at least deserved a draw and ireland will find it tough out in cyprus there no world beaters but neither are we:mad:

Wonder what dunphy and co will think of traps line-up tonight:rolleyes:

Brilliant result but I thought we could have won that. Dunphy is seriously getting on my nerves talking awful crap again , he contradicts himself all the time, I hate the man! He's a clown!

Great result... its kind of amazing to be unhappy with a draw at the end though! I don't think Shay had a save to make and we definately dominated the game. However we were missing a definate lack of creativity in midfield and out final ball was very poor. Our set pieces were also pretty poor. I wonder how the game would have finished had the italians not had pazzini sent off.

I think Dunphy is right in what he says. We have some top class players in our team. And to be very honest as a big ireland fan i hate it when i see Andy Reid and Lee Carsley ommitted when there is n doubt in my mind that they could do a better job than Whelan and Andrews. I also think that if a proper effort was made, stephen ireland would come back. I think he is one of the best players in the PL at the moment and he'd make a massive difference. Hopefully Steven Reid will be back soon.

    Great result!

Stephen Ireland has to cop on to himself!
    What age is Carsley?
Steven Reid will not be available until at least June/July!

How can anybody agree with Dunphy?
Andy Reid is a lazy so and so!
We have to look to the future!

In my and most people's opinion (who I know) Dunphy is a clown!

I wouldn't have Andy reid. I agree with you he's overweight and lazy. I know Carsley's old but I'd have him in. He's playing well.

Ah come on, i can't see how anyone could not agree that our midfield is a shambles. Whelan and Andrews simply arent close to being good enough and Hunt is a very good impact player but nothing else. If Andy Reid was playing tonight, he could have been the difference between winning and drawing as we did. He is a great passer of the ball and a good deliverer of a dead ball, two vital aspects that we were missing tonight. Yes Stephen Ireland needs to cop himself on but we are extremely foolish to not try harder to get back one of the best midfield players of his generation. He really is a fantastic player... anytime i have watched him recently, he has literally ran the show.

I thought Whelan played well tonight. I agree with you the sooner the better Steven Reid is back! Stephen Ireland is a great player but what do we have to do to make him play for us again, I for one will not kiss his arse! Hunt is not a midfielder he's a winger.

Dunphy has not got a clue and I'll never take him serious no matter what anybody thinks!

The Biggest problem i had with Dunphy tonight was his comment that Gibson came on and did nothing

Bollock to that, Gibson came on and was responsible for most of the flowing football we played in the second half, his passing was great and we pushed forward with more purpose and penetration when he got involved.

    Gibson FTW

Caleb Folan was brilliant tonight, he should start the next match. Ireland always need a target man!

Agree with you a 100% dionsiseire about Gibson.
