I go past the docklands at 6pm every day... have been dropping down there with my camera of late... my camera battery ran out on Sunday though and I left my charger in America, but just received the replacement battery via eBay today. 8) Not sure about the photo-walk concept, think too many people would be a bit awkward, but give me a shout if there are a couple of you around and I would love to see the kind of techniques you use... I'm still coming to terms a bit with my SLR

so do I - we had 4 at the last couple I arranged here, so I reckon it'll be fine.
I made a new thread for it here.

Not sure about that. I have been on many photowalks and people really enjoy them. There is nothing to feel awkward about. Come along with your SLR and you might learn something new!

Well I could probably write a novel on why I would find it awkward. In my nightmares I see a dozen amateur photographers, with Elvis Costello hats and Jeff Buckley t-shirts, gathering like pigeons around the same rotting bollard, cooing with delight over this rugged residue of days gone by. Half of them thinking "this will look great in black & white! How well it complements the harsh honesty in my [random wrinkley-faced homeless person photo]".

But I know these thoughts are just irrational and I should discard this destructive cynicism, because as you rightly point out it is better to do these things and learn from others :) /me takes deep breath... will see you there! :)
