    Hi,

Do any of ye know if a broken "door stay" the hinge type thing that stops the door closing back in when you open it would cause a car to fail an NCT.

    thanks

That's called a door strap and I don't think it is a fail item, I doubt it would be noticed but if it is, it's a visual fail item, which means you won't get hit for 27.50 Euro for a re-test, you just get it sorted and call bakc up within 28 days and they'll give you a cert there and then, no booking required....

There's no such thing as a definite fail when it comes to the NCT...
