The Killers, R'n'B, can't get my head around metal, Metallica just sound awful to me, Punk does nothing for me either, same goes for Reggae.

  • Registered Users Posts: 31,941 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Agree on Metallica...and more of the heavy metal stuff. Not a fan of the Killers either.

I do like Bob Marley and Beautiful South though.

Britney bollocking Spears, that womanizer song actually made me want to cry with frustration at a few points. Almost all Beyoncé's stuff. ****ing Basshunter. Dancey remixes of songs that were **** to begin with. Almost all heavy or death metal (especially Metallica, but that's more due to them being a bunch of spanners rather than the actual music, which is still ****e). Morrisey. I hate Morrisey. There's more too but I can't remember right now

What music do you like then i think ya nearly listed all music there ha ha

Omg you're ancient ;) As for music I like all types of stuff..."indie" like Lykke Li, Santogold Moldy Peaches and Noah and the Whale, more kind of left field stuff like Godspeed you black emporor, Battles and Animal Collective, pop sort of stuff like Fight Like Apes (though I think they might be ruining my cred lol) and Lady Gaga. Quite into Chrystal Castles and Justice atm as well. And I'm quite partial to a bit of ould seventies rock, jefferson Airplane, The Doors, love the Beatles....lots of stuff like, there's a whole world out there. And I have a soft spot for the Boss I must admit

Wouldn't class "Nothing Else Matters" as a full-blown rock song - way too slow.

    Music I hate would be
    a) Any boy "band" (should be vocal group, but the phrase has become accepted for some unknown reason)
    b) Anything that uses American urban slang words like "homies" "my boo" or crap like that
    c) Chipmunks-style "dance" versions of old classics
    d) Most "Country & Irish"
    e) Any Mariah Carey clones
    f) "Yo, yo" pseudo R&B
    g) Most of what charted in 2006 & 2007 - 2008 was actually bearable for the most part!

There's a few more, but they don't fit into neat, easily-described categories.

    All rap artists

All of them? Honestly, on the whole it would be far from a genre I'd say I like, but there's still some good things to be found:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,129 ✭✭✭Nightwish

I understand that some rap artist have pretty good lyrics, but the music simply does nothing for me at all. Most of the stuff that has charted in the past few years is vile. Zach de la Rocha is probably the closest thing to rap that I can tolerate.

Theres a lot that I could mention, but ill just give the ones who annoy me most at the minute.
Beyonce - that if i were a boy song has been played in work non stop the past 4 weeks, absolute torture.

Whoever has that I kissed a girl song, another song that has me reaching for the sick bag.

All these indie bands who sound and look the same, the editors, the directors, the enemy, razorlight etc if all those bands swapped members nobody would notice becuase they are virtual clones.

Emo bands - Enough said about them already really, nothing more needs to be added.

X Factor Singers - its taking the mick at this stage really, sing somebody elses song and be gauranteed an xmas number one, its like rigging a raffle. No soul in it at all.

Irish Trad - Could never understand the appeal, never sounded in any way decent to me.

That man's lyrics are simply amazing.

    Meanwhile, music I hate:

Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot, Korn, Cradle of Filth, Nightwish, Children of Bodom, Sepultura, Dimmu Borgir, Tool, Killswitch Engage or any other shite that sounds similar to any of those bands. Utter tripe in my opinion.

Also hate the likes of Basshunter, Scooter (my most hated "band"), Tiesto - you know the type I mean. Happy, Hardcore, Rave, Trance, Garage rubbish.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

^^ In fairness, looking at the lists she's made it doesn't look like she's the most tolerant music listener so I doubt there's much that will persuade. The Aphex Twin one irks me though. Such a diverse collection of music would say that she either hates unusual rhythms or just electronic music in general.

Dare I throw the cat amongst the pigeons and say.....The Beatles. There was a greatest hits on a flight I was on, and whilst GH collections arent always the best judge of an artist/band as they usually have glaring omissions......it was for the most part cheesy LSD addled nonsense that if performed by a band of today would get nowhere. There was the odd decent tune but an awful lot of nonsensical out of tune rubbish.

    Anyway, the rest

Kylie. My most abhorred pop singer, crap tunes and she looks like a mannequin.
The Chillis. My most despised middle of the road sh1t band. Anyone remember there was a period from, I dunno, 03 to 05, when they came to Ireland like every 5 months?
    Nirvana
My Chemical Romance, Green Day, basically all of those sh1t bands those spas hanging around the Central Bank listen to
Outkast. Great in 1994, nowadays making embarassingly bad crap that gets rave reviews from chin stroking types.
    Daft Punk. Fuvking awful
    The Killers
    Coldplay
Scissor Sisters (who thankfully seem to have disappeared)
Cascada, Basshunter and other sh1t I would currently think was the be all and end all of dance music if I had been born in 1994 :)

Having said that, the unbelieveably beautiful former pornstar Aylar Lie being on Basshunter videos 9 times per hour on sky is an added bonus, just press mute :):p

    There is always one...

The fact that you don't like them is fair enough but the last comment would suggest to me that you don't know what you are talking about.

Emo, Scum-Dance (Basshunter, Cascada, Scooter), Indie shit (I like some of it though, mainly just the ones who think they're "underground", fans are wankers too) and religious music (P.O.D. - bunch of cunts!).
