25 years since Kill Em All. 25 years is what it takes. They will be inducted later this spring.

I hope they do the honourable thing and allow Newsted the offer to join them as they accept this award, and perhaps Cliff's parents, or a representative from his side of the family. Dave Mustaine would be nice, but Megadeth will have their induction in 2011, if it comes to it.

What on earth is the rock n roll hall of fame? Do they get paid for this or is it just a bit of rubbish?

Let the Sex Pistols letter, turning down their invite to be inducted, say it all:

Mostly Rubbish, Some glaring omissions and some bizzare members.
No Rush, but they did induct Blondie and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.

Apparently, the editor ( / owner?) of Rolling Stone magazine hates Rush and has been quoted as saying that they will never be inducted as long as he had a say. He aparently has a big say in who gets in.
He seems to have softened his stance slightly last year when the magazine actually did a feature on the band.

You forgot the travesty that was Madonnas induction the other year.

Jann Wenner, and he probably came to the realisation that all three members will probably outlive him ;)

Yep - no Rush, and Yes or King Crimson, who marked their 40th anniversary on the 13th, are not in the running. Hall of Fame? More like Hall of Fashion.

Fashion? Turn to the left. Fashion? Turn to the right. :pac:

Death has this much to be said for it:
You don’t have to get out of bed for it.
    Wherever you happen to be
    They bring it to you—free.

    Interesting from Rolling stone magazine.

Each member of Metallica was also asked what band he’d like to see in the Rock Hall. They lobbied for ,
    Motorhead (Hetfield),
    Deep Purple (Ulrich),
    Rush (Hammett)
    UFO (bassist Robert Trujillo.)
