Have to say I thought Sigur Rós were excellent tonight. The sound was excellent, the visuals were superb, and the performance was really great as well. Definitely one of my favourite gigs this year.

I'd say there are some nice photos of the show out there!

Devildriver and Sylosis announced for The Academy next April. Who's going?

Posted in the gig thread, but it's probably better suited here: I'm torn :( I don't like Devildriver, but I love Sylosis... I may see if I have money post-Christmas to get a ticket.

For €25 you're getting a decent lineup for your money.

Yeah, I suppose. I imagine Devildriver would be entertaining enough live, so it'd likely be worth it. Don't know the third band at all though.

Aye, it may sell out though as it's DD's first Dublin performance.

Brilliant, only really started listening to them in the last year or two but have been very impressed with their back catalogue.

Just back from my weekend at the Warped Tour UK! :D:D

Got to see some bands I've been wanting to - Billy Talent, Coheed and Cambria, Rise Against, A Day To Remember (Surprise acoustic set :D) Enter Shikari and the act that got my attention the most was Hatebreed.

I've listened to them, but never really took to them, but after their live performance me thinks I'll be catching them live again during life :)

Roll on next weekend for Nickelback (hush you ;)) and The Darkness :D

Hope you're all good and had a great weekend of Sigur Ros and Queens of the Stone Age :D:):D

Finished gigs for the year by the looks of things, unless something pops up last minute. Wasn't a bad year for them, highlights being Steven Wilson, Queensryche and Sigur Ros.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Anyone heading to Death in the Academy?

Are tickets still for sale? I assumed it was all sold out

    /too lazy to google

Yup, DME updated the status ;)

it's a bit short notice, but I think I'd definitely love to go, seeing this live would be insane :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,632 ✭✭✭✭Mr. CooL ICE

I'll probably go if that's the case.

I don't have a whole lot of love for bands that tour without the frontman the 'made' them, e.g. Thin Lizzy, Queen, etc. But DTA would be awesome craic I reckon

I know, part of me is thinking it's a bit cynical but looking at the live videos, they sound extremely good :D

I'm broke as bits right now so dunno if I can make it or not but it would be awesome if I can

Considering going alright. It seems that there will be quite an attendance.

Yeah, I'm pretty rogered for cash too. I'd love to see them do Painkiller.

yep, also heading to Death. An opportunity not to be passed up!

Dammit, I'd love to be going to the Death gig, simply can't though, exams are just a nuisance nowadays. Spent the last 2 and a bit month working on a massive project flat out, and now this crap.

In fairness, I was at about 4 gigs within the space of a week there after the project, but it hurts missing this Death gig.

Someone asked her does she speak much German, she said she'd just listen to Rammstein to pick it up :P
