Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    *****************

Benjamin Escoriza, front man of the most important Spanish ‘World Music’ band, Radio Tarifa, will perform at the Button Factory in February the 6th.
The superb flamenco singer will be accompanied by former Radio Tarifa musicians and saxophonist Gautama del Campo. They propose an exotic musical journey blending flamenco, jazz, gypsy, classical, rock and Arabic resonances.

RADIO TARIFA closed its farewell world tour in 2006 at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms. Since then, their members have pursued different projects while still performing together occasionally. The charismatic front man of this flamenco-fusion cult band, Benjamin Escoriza (Seville), will bring to Dublin his compulsively smoky voice and expertise of flamenco. Accompanied by flamenco-jazz fusionist and amazing saxophone player Gautama del Campo (Madrid) and very special guests it promises to be a passionate show dominated by exotic and Southern sounds.
This performance will bring back the memories of the great hits that made Radio Tarifa a band of cult in the 1990’ and early 2000’ in the world music scene and Spain…Songs like Rumba Argelina, Fiebre, Cruzando el rio, La Tarara, will share stage with latest Benjamin’s recording, the also acclaimed ‘Alevanta’ (2007).
Scoriza’s latest project embodies a continuation of Radio Tarifa’s work, in which Moorish, Sephardic, Medieval and contemporary North African styles blend around a predominant flamenco flavor.
Radio Tarifa performed in Ireland for the last time in 2005 as part of ‘A Continent Undivided’ festival in Cork which successfully celebrated European music diversity.
