Some positive feedback for a change.

The construction and planning forum was set up two years ago and in that time has dealt with numerous related issues and helped out quite a few users, especially with planning queries.

Recently, one of our members got in touch with muffler about a house he was about to start building and we now have the following thread - "The house that boards built". The idea here is that Quazzie2002 will post regular updates of his progress and will get as much help and information from the regular users on the forum as possible. He will also get quite a few differing opinions on various facets of the design and build, but that's what he's after and the regular users of C & P aren't shy in giving their opinions.:D

As most of you know, building a house is a huge undertaking both financially and indeed emotionally due to the stresses involved. On behalf of the mods of the forum, I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank Quazzie2002 for giving us this unique opportunity. I'd also like to thank the regular contributors who have been very generous with their time and advice over the past couple of years and are all keen to help out with this project.

This is just another example of what can happen on boards when the right people get involved.

The house warming party should be good. ;)

    That's a great idea.
Thanks to fellow Boardsies, Quazzie2002 will most likely have the best built house in Ireland!

    What?? I swear I didn't do it!!!!!

Oh this is a positive feedback... Very strange.. I didn't think I'd be involved in one of these.

I recommend using bricks rather than straw, or indeed sticks.

I remember hearing bad things about the latter two. Something to do with approved pork, and that guy from X-Men.

Or a house of cards for that matter.

Oh, or glass, cos then you don't get to throw stones.

A house built on information gathered from geeks and nerds?

Should be an interesting construct :D

Its'll turn in to a huge cosplay & lan party event. Pizzahut will make a fortune.

    What a great idea! :)

I think in honour of all the input you're going to get from boardsies, you should name rooms after boards forums.

I'll start by proposing a few:

The entrance hall should be Newbies and FAQ.
The living room should be the After Hours room.
The master bedroom should be S&S obviously.
The Kitchen should be the Food and Drink room.
The bar, of course, should be the BGRH room.
There has to be a games room for DeV, oh let's call it the poker room.
Let's not forget the attic - aka the nocturnal room.
The garage should be the Motors room.
The utility room where you send the kids when they're bold - the feedback room.
And last but by no means least, the cellar, - the Snyper room.

    :)

I think basement is probably a better suit.
