Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was insured on an 08 bike which I got rid of, and just wondering does insurance go up in price for older bikes of the same spec, e.g. a 2002 125 scooter?

I would imagine that it'd go down, but god knows what the random number generator the insurance companies use will tell ya - they'd be the ones to ask

everything else is just speculation really

Does anyone know why 3rd party only is so expensive? I mean i had a 400 virago, and my mates land rover defender was cheaper fully comp than my 3rd party! What would do more damage if it hit another car?

A court ruling a few years back deemed that compulsory third-party insurance on motorbikes included covering any pillion passengers. Previous to that, they weren't covered.

Needless to say, there are a good number of idiots driving around too fast with their mates on the back and wrapping the two of them around a pole.

Does this mean that when the insurance company asks if you want premium cover you might as well say no?

less competition in the motorbike market, and higher risk of personal injury claim (the really costly bit afaik)
