Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have i been hearing things or is it possible to get a Motor Tax rebate for the six month's considering the following scenario:

Purchased the car new last February, paid tax for the year at €1,231.

The car is now at the new tax band which started in July at €1,000 for this car, and is now at €1,050 for this year.

    Can i claim the balance?

    Thanks a mil:D

nope, you just have to renew your tax this year at the new CO2 rates, and thus saving money this year :D

its similar to somebody buying an evo in jan 2008 and taxing it for the year at 500 odd euro and then in jusy the gov looking for the balance of 2k as its a high emmissions car.

Sorry to hijack but does anyone know how to claim back tax on a car that's been removed from the road, a write off in this case, it's only a week in so would like to recoup if possible.

    Thanks Bspin

Please read the charter and don't resurrect old threads. Feel free to start a new one instead.
