u.tv DNS problem ?

    Herself was complaining that the internet was really slow today

    I did a speed test - 90ms ping, 6MB download, 500KB upload
    but response time from sites was awful
    Google.com was taking up to a minute to load

    I rebooted my Mac, reset my router - no change

    So I got onto my router and changed the DNS from the u.tv defaults
    194.46.192.141 / 194.46.192.142
    to the values for OpenDNS
    208.67.222.222 / 208.67.220.220

    Now everything is working fine

    Anybody else experiencing similar issues?

    Yep, I had exactly the same issues for over a week now, I did the same and changed over to opendns, no issues since. I'm on UTV's 7.6Mb service too.

    I set my DNS to openDNs no matter what ISP i am using.

    I've had to switch to OpenDNS (a handy resource) before on UTV when I had similar problems.

    However, I'm on UTV's DNS now, and it's working generally OK for me.

    Thanks for the feedback

    Ill stick with OpenDNS for now

    I did switch over before - and then switched back to Clicksilver's servers (cant remember why)

    Ill post if I have to switch again
