hi all,99% there now but!

    moved my mobo to a new case (more room and more fans etc)
    only problem now is that i am getting an error message
    "a disk read error occurred"
    press ctrl alt del to restart

    also when i delved deeper i got this message
    <windowsroot>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe is either missing or corrupt please reload!

    anyone got any ideas???

    total noobie at this!
    the HDD is powering up ok but windows not running properly,can get in up in safe mode though!
    any help appreciated!

    What version of windows are you using?

    Have you tried to restore last known good configuration or tried to run "sfc /scannow" from the command line (without the commas)?

    looks like faulty ide cable used the one i usually use for the dvd drives and seems ok for the mo!
