    TV prankster Johnny Knoxville has been detained for allegedly bringing a fake grenade into an airport. Security screeners at Los Angeles International Airport detected the grenade in the Jackass star's hand luggage.
    It was investigated by a bomb squad who found it did not have a firing pin or explosives.
    Knoxville told police that the grenade was a prop he forgot to remove from his bag, airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles said.
    The 38-year-old, whose real name is Philip John Clapp, was later released.
    Prosecutors have yet to decide whether to charge him with bringing a prohibited item into a secure area of the airport.
    Knoxville co-created and starred in the MTV series Jackass, which became known for its dangerous stunts and pranks.
