    Bit more to the SE. The far right edge maybe. Centre of the pic would be around Mallow I guess.

    Middle would be Killarney, SE of my location, about 20miles straight line.

    Met Éireann were on about snow on high ground yesterday- at what point did they change that forecast?
    I didnt hear the late evening ones.

    Ah that would explain a lot! Generally when you get above 500ft asl, weather changes quite a lot say from sleet at sea level to snow at that height and above.
    This is especially true when several miles inland too.
    I presume you are adjacent to even higher ground or mountains? That also helps a lot especially when you have the height that you have aswell.

    Computer generated and to answer 2nd Q, no use!
    IMO it would be much better if they didn't report. A bad report is much worse than no report.
    BTW, this is all my own opinion as I've no inside info/proof whether they are computer generated, but the amount of rediculous text reports from the automated (A) stations that I see makes it plainly obvious to me.
