.. doing a detailed tattoo, the main body of which would be similar to this picture: DelphicPriestess.jpg in greyscale (I think that's the right word here, just in grey/black with no harsh black outlines)? It's not the first time I've been tattoo'd, but this would be by far the most complicated one I've gotten, so I'd like to make sure it's perfect. Does anyone here know if artists in Ireland anywhere specialise in this kind of picture? I've heard good things about some studios like JMDs in Waterford and Nine Lives in Bray, but I don't know if they specialise. Cheers for any info.

You're looking for a black n grey version of the top half of this painting? If you are there is no one that I know of currently in Ireland capable of doing that job to a very high standard, maybe Robert in Snakebite? Another poster put up a link and his B&G work is pretty impressive.

JMD's has a good rep but I've not seen anything that blows me away tbh. You might consider taking a cheap flight or attending a close by convention to get a world class tattoo/artist. Off the top of my head, I would recommend a Portugese artist Victor, www.darktimestattoo.com , I know its not down the road but defo worth it in the long run. Hope that helps.

there is no one I would recommend for that work in this country. also, the tattoo will have to be very big to capture any of that detail.

Robert's stuff is just what I was after. The guy in the local studio took a look at what I wanted and said he'd draw out a design for me, but seeing that I might go to Snakebite now, cheers. (To clarify it's not a direct copy from that picture, it was just a reference, and yeah I was planning on getting it fairly big anyway probably over a few sessions)

    Wasn't Jimmy's back piece done in JMD's?
    That is stunning tbh.
