Boy George was sentenced to 15 months in jail yesterday for violently imprisoning a Norwegian male escort at his flat.

The musician -- whose real name is George O'Dowd -- was found guilty of false imprisonment for chaining Audun Carlsen to his bed in Shoreditch, East London, in April 2007 and beating him with the help of another man.

A judge told the star, whose mother was born in Dublin, that he carried out a "premeditated", "callous", and "degrading" drug-fuelled attack which "traumatised" his victim.
