    hello,
    I built a new pc and it works fine. but i have 4gb ram installed but it only recognises 2.75gb. i have windows xp pro installed. i wonder why is that. any help appreciated.

    are you running a 64 bit OS?

    disclaimer: ignore if you already know this:

    32 bit OS are capped so they can only store 4GB worth of memory address space, and the memory of devices such as your Graphics Card are included in this, which can be why your OS doesn't see all your RAM.
