Looking for opinions on the following specs, which is better? I know dell are not the cheapest but I cant build one and I would like to get it in Ireland in case anything goes wrong. Komplett seem to have stopped selling desktops so my options are limited. It will be used for general stuff and some video editing and I have a budget of around € 1800.

    1TB (7200rpm) Serial ATA/100 Hard Drive
    4096MB 1067 MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [4x1024]

External Dell AX210 Black USB Speakers
    19-in-1 Media Card Reader

    TOTAL € 1787

    Studio XPS

    Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 920 (2.66GHz, 8MB cache, 4.8GT/sec)
    23in SP2309W Full HD+ Widescreen Black UK/Irish (2048 x 1152)
1 TB (2x 500 GB) Serial ATA (7200 Rpm) Dual HDD Config Raid 0 Stripe
    6144MB (6x1024) 1067MHz DDR3 Tri Channel
    256MB ATI® Radeon™ HD 3650 graphics card
16X DVD+/- RW Optical Drive (DVD & CD read and write)
Logitech MX3200 Cordless Keyboard and Laser Mouse
TV Tuner (analog/digital) with Remote Control
Integrated HDA 7.1 Dolby Digital Audio
External Dell AX210 Black USB Speakers
    19-in-1 Media Card Reader

    TOTAL € 1552

I have a promo code which will give a further 10 % off the above prices.

    Thanks.

The studio is better in pretty much every way except for the graphics card. With the difference in price you could buy a new graphics card if needs be (Unless it's a slimline pc).

I'd go for the Studio option as the Core i7 is way better for video editing than the XPS cpu.

The studio XPS is having alot of teething problems due to its rushed release, and its supposed to have a very annoying high pitched intermitting fan noise - which would get annoying if you're sitting beside it all day. You also can't do much upgrading on it.
The Studio XPS is a great work horse suited to number crunching and image rendering etc. but its not good for things like gaming.:(
The studio XPS is more for your money, it just depends on the luck of the draw on wheather you get a good one or not.

The XPS 430 is a more reliable and high quality pc but with some dated technology,
but at the end of the day the studio XPS has the Core i7, and who cares about teething problems when you have warranty.:D
