    Hi guys,

Bought a 97 Jeep Cherokee in Northern Australia. 4L Petrol. (Wanted a Hiliux/Pajero/Patrol but couldnt find any where i was. Damn it drinks the petrol too. Took just over 2 tanks to get 650km. Wasnt dogging it too much. Going between 95-115kph most of the way.)

Brought it to a garage to get it inspected etc and they said it needed a new ignition unit, exaust system(was cracked), bushels and some other minor stuff but otherwise it was in good condition. Fair enough they did that. Seemed to kinda be rushing so dont know if they did a really good check etc.

Anyways i drove it 650km yesterday and along the journey it seemed to loose power for about 15seconds. Got no responce from the trottle when pressing it. Ignored it and drove on kinda wondering was it my imagination. Then later in the journey as i was going up a hill it appeared again and i really felt the power going. Was like it was not getting fuel into the engine. The car all so kinda jumped a little like it was getting fuel in short spurts. Rev a tiny bit and drop back etc.

Anyways today when i was driving it i let the engine run after driving for an hour and listened to the engine tick over and it revs a little every second and not the smooth sound i am used to from other vechials.

Anybody able to take a guess whats going on?

    Dirty fuel filters?
    Dodgy pump?
    Carberator?
The screw something with the new exaust system they put in?

Many Thanks for the help guys!
    Brian
