Hey everyone, hope you're all set well for the advent of the new semester - for the final year old fogies like myself, just one more to go, hang in there!

Just to let you know (if you didn't already) about the UCD Student Events Calendar, which you can access at www.ucd.ie/events, at the bottom of the UCD homepage, or by clicking on the "What's on in UCD Today" icon on any SUAS machine campus-wide.

The Events Calendar does exactly what it says on the tin - every society, sports club or group on campus are invited to submit events to the website, where they can be viewed by anyone anywhere in the world, and where they can be sorted into categories - so if you only want to see sports events or SU activities taking place, you can customise your view accordingly.

If any of you are involved in a club or society and your events aren't listed on the calendar yet, submitting them is simple. Just go to the calendar and click the 'Submit an Event' link on the left-hand side; you'll just need a UCD Connect username and password to view the submission form. Towards the end of last semester the calendar was receiving 2500 (or so) unique views on a weekly basis so there's definitely a market out there for an online catalogue of everything happening in this great big college of ours.

Feedback on the calendar or any ideas on how to improve/promote it is most welcome - email studentevents@ucd.ie with any ideas you might have.

    Cheers,
    Gav

Pity to see the time on money spent on www.ucdevents.com (run by the societies office iirc) was a waste, but congrats Gav on the calendar. www.ucdents.com is also a great resource for keeping up to date on (SU) events.
