    Hi folks.

Seriously thinking about goin back to study this. Iv done one year in Civ Eng a few years back but dropped out. Iv done my research but id like to get the views of someone thats doin the course or knows someone that is.

    Is it an intense course?
Wht would the hours be like (for personal reasons of mine) ?
Is it passable with only basic knowledge of computers?

Thanks very much for your help.

How do you mean?? If you mean is more than a basic knowledge required going into the course, then no, a basic knowledge is fine as long as you work hard and build on that knowledge. If you mean can you get through the course on just a basic knowledge, then no. Basically, any computer courses that are for a BSc are going to be very hard, and in some modules, very scientific. There are no exceptions. Computer courses have the highest drop out rates in the country. This is mainly because, imho, people don't know what to expect going into them. BSc computer courses aren't about typing in Microsoft Word, in fact you rarely even operate in Windows. Computer courses will be made up of networking, programming, databases, multimedia languages etc etc etc...so before you take one on, just make sure you know exactly what it entails.

The key question here is; what exactly do you enjoy about computers?? What career would you be interested in??
