Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I prefer the monochrome version which I think has more atmosphere.

Colour version for me. Only thing I can think of might be a bit of an unsharp mask... Nice shot.

I like colour version a lot more. I think it would look a bit better if you changed the colour tone in front of the two rocks to match the rest of the water.

    Colour

I prefer the tones in the colour, but I'd crop out all the front, up to the rocks, because the mucky looking water takes from the rest of the image.

    Colour....by a distance.

I'd go for the colour version, close call though. If the WhiteBalance was changed a bit for the rocks in the foreground, it would be the colour hands down!

I like both but the B&W has the edge purely due to the colouring at the front of the rocks in the colour version. Maybe as sasar says (above), change the WB and you may get a better feel to the effect on the rocks.

Colour in the first one is amazing, lovely photo!

Can you cut out the yellowish water in the front though? It takes away from the rest of the picture I think.

The same area is also a bit distracting for me in teh B&W, but both photos are very nice.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Much appreciated. :) I was going to put one of them in for a competition and couldn't decide. I discovered that the black and white looks quite good on a black background or with a black frame so I may go against opinion and go with that but still undecided.

Here is the black and white on black background.

A few people pointed out the orange area of water at the bottom of the colour version. You may also notice that the rocks have an orange cast. This was due a street lamp behind me that lit the rocks very nicely but gave them an orange cast. At least this is not an issue in the BW.

Anyway, many thanks for the opinions.

B&W for me. No offence but I don't like the colour at all.
