i got a 9.6v battery for my jg g36 and after hearing the rate of fire increase a mate of mine now wants to get one for his dboys scar, this one here

    http://www.eirsoft.ie/store/product_info.php?cPath=22_32&products_id=244

im just checking does anyone know if this guns gear box will take the higher rate of fire and wiring will take the extra voltage? or does anyone run one with a 9.6?

thanks for any help in advance

Had one of them and used a 9.6 with it. Should be perfectly fine (the gears in a Dboys are usually fairly meaty anyway), the only problem I had was getting the battery in and out - a pain in the bum but not a bit real problem.

The Dboys Scar has nylon bushings in it, ya should probably change them

before using a 9.6. Will make it more reliable.

what would happen if you didnt change them?

They'd just wear down faster with the 9.6v

Makes it more reliable if the were swapped for metal ones or even bearing

bushings which would increase rof a bit.

I reckon it'll do fine on a 9.6 but the manufacturer sells them on 8.4. the higher voltage will add a small bit of wear on the gearbox but it mightn't even be noticeable. Dboys and a few other clone company's all use the XYT gears. they are extremely solid gears and i cant even remember the last time i seen some striped. If you do the bushings and shim it as blay said, you'll notice an improvement in the rate of fire even on its original battery and the gun will be more consistent.

    Thread hijack :p

Sorry guys but would the same advice go for a Dboys / 'kalash' AKS-74?

I think the Kalash are made of a high quality because they do come from different factories. But back to the Scar would a 9.6 fit in th VFC Scar?

Yep, I run a 9.6V 1500mah in my VFC - no probs and a great rof.
