Have either of you guys seen this car to comment on the actual condition of this car ?

It's a boards failing in my opinion that so many of the posts here fall foul of stereotyping and generalisations, particularly when alot of folk round here think a 1992 Corrolla is something worth wetting ones pants over because "they're reliable"

They all have rust issues if they live in this climate and that leads to electrical issues as a result of the damp climate. I remember repairing rust damage on brand new Alfas and Lancias and they only spent a few months in an Irish compound waiting to be sold. They're fine if they live in a dry climate but if it's come from the UK you can be guaranteed rust and electrical issues.

The Gamma is rather special. It's the later model with Bosch fuel injection and not as unreliable as people think. It was less common than most Ferraris when new - now it is very rare. The photos don't do it justice - I'd say it is in superb condition. The price - looks reasonable to me!

I think the reason Ferraris were more popular at the time was that they had the ability to have their steering wheels turned to full lock with a cold engine without said engine disintegrating. :D

And yes, that's most likely an urban myth about the Gamma, but on the other hand, there's no smoke without fire...

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Might be some truth in that

I think the powersteering was driven by the timing belt?

This was posted in the dreamers thread over in motors. You can't say the seller isn't honest anyway. Going for 5K.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles to avoid the DRS fee.

She looks mint and the colour is beautiful. The Ad is hilarious, but does the guy's tone point to an underlying problem with the car or just his own wife???

He calls his business on DoneDeal "the pikey", and with english plates and no disks at all on the windscreen it doesn't look like he's even driven it!

Although, with a CL benzino in the background he probably hasn't been bothered... Too busy with DIY with the old bathtub out in yard!

Funny thing is, he's probably gonna get a lot of calls tonight and tomorrow having got a lot of free advertising on two seperate forums on boards!!! That'll probably aggravate him no end.

It could be just a story too to sell the car, those BM's were rustbuckets at the best of times.

That's what I heard. The engine people must have been on some particularly potent drugs when they decided that was a good idea.

Nah, Vauxhall & Opel had seperate ranges of cars & dealers here till about 1980ish.

Around the time they brought out the first Astra the Vauxhall dealers were phased out & everything became Opel.

if its called a viva its always a vauxhall, the opel equivalent, a similiar type car was the kadett

Keep on seeing examples like this sitting up at shows recently and I am just left wondering, WHY?

Then again, a generation older than me may be wondering why I would willingly spend a few €k on a Mk I 2.8 Ghia Granada! Actually no - most would prefer to see the money being spent on a Granada rather than an '88 Corolla!

The only enquiries i'm getting for cars and boats at the moment is from France and the UK, nothing from Ireland. Sold five cars and two boats to the UK and two boats and two cars to France, just goes to show how bad it really is here.:(

A drop in the ocean when compared to all those original English cars (and Scottish and Welsh) that end up in Ireland! ;)
