No dreamers mentioned in the ad, I wonder who dreams owning a Mazda 626... :)

I have been looking a Lexus Ls400 and you can get 1998 model about 2k. I think it is better buy than Legend. v6 205hp against v8 290hp, same tax, most likely same insurance and there should not be that big difference with petrol consumption, so why bother getting the Legend?

Good point, I did see a 95 LS on donedeal for small money too. Either car would be a nice buy tbh.

The Lexus looks a much fancier bus I reckon, considering tax and fuel costs are the same (ish with fuel) I'd go for the Lexus.

I bought one last August - same year and smaller milage although the same now. It needed bushings to get through the NCT and cost me €850 for purchase price.
Cheap reliable motoring. Thats what it is. No more no less.
    Bangernomics for me.

Is it a 2L engine? what's your MPG like?

I was getting 35-40mpg easily enough. Good torque down low (well better than 1.4) and good gearing for eco driving. There is two versions of that engine I'm think 115ish bhp and 136bhp. I'd take that one linked to if it was a bit closer to home - need another hatchback or estate soon.

Yes 2.0l. I'm getting 34mpg average. Not great but not too bad either. The 2.0 is noted for drinking oil, but mine hasn't shown any signs of this yet.

Debating a 96 E200 Auto Elegance - €300, no Tax or 1 months NCT, needs lower ball joints and rear tyres. Tempting - these E-classes are going for peanuts now

    Hurry UK bargain awaits :D

Spent 2 years it is just continental motorway miles in South-East of Europe. The car was used for movie production and erotic models in Bulgaria, Hungary, Czech Republic and Poland loved it so much.

Hurry before it ends up driving aimlessly around Nenagh with a stupid exhaust and a rear wing attached with sellotape with some little scumbag and his bit on the side in the passenger seat, both of which will end up in a ditch the week after due to the uncontrollable power of VTEC in the hands of an idiot

For the love of God someone buy it

Has to be a joke? It's a different car in every picture. The first and last don't look the same even.

It ain't VTEC!!! Which is why it looks unmodified.:D

They're a great little car. Quick enough, excellent fuel economy, decent drive, comfortable enough & all. I'd have one in a shot if i had to get an old car in a hurry. Of the 90's jap invincibles; almera, corolla, civic , 323 i'd have the honda every time.

Not great at motorway speeds though. Good bit of road noise after 50/55mph.

No mention of miles or NCT, how you reckon it's a good buy is beyond me given the lack of info in the add. Potentially a good buy me thinks ;)

Ten quid says it has galactical mileage on it!

Are those wheels reps? They look like the M5 wheels but they're not as deep dished etc.

120k to be exact, well back in November anyway. No mention of millage now however, it would be interesting to see what they quote over the phone.

my first hack at bangernomics, but id say this car has lots of life left in it, if a little expensive to tax.

 My neighbour (RIP Mr Quinlan) had one of them (in silver) in the 90s with chrome deep dish alloys on it (the chap was in his late 60s at the time). Iirc he had a 180SX before it, a propor enthusiast he was.
