    not really bangernomics, the asking price is a bit steep, tax will be 1600 quid i think, and lets not mention fuel either.

    but this seems like the right place to post it. a big, good looking, reliable comfortable car for 2500 quid. you wouldn't built one for that price.

    FULL SERVICE THAT COST 2650 EUROS

    I'd be in tears forking out for that. He must be including tires and stuff in that.
    Looney asking price but fair play to him, worth a try, their are still folks out there with more money than sense, the price can be like a knickers ;)

    Yes, it does.

    e39 never came with a 2.0 diesel. 525tds, 525d and 530d only.

    e39 never came with a 2.0 diesel. 525tds, 525d and 530d only.

    What about the 2.2 diesel? That was a 520d.

    520d has a 2.0 4-cylinder (1951 ccm) engine.

    If ye can find me an E39 2.0 diesel in ireland, I'll personally drive to your house and apologise!!!!!

    The 2.0 was only available in the newer E60 (iirc, introduced in 2006)

    Because you can't find it in Ireland, it does not mean that it was not available!
    And there was one for sale on DoneDeal some time ago.

    Kinda defeats the purpose in this thread then, doesn't it?

    So if I get a 520D which is apparently 2.2 then I'd be taxed for a 2.0 or 2.2?

    Pre-2008 on any car you'll be taxed on engine c.c.

    Not your ornery onager

    Damn right serious.

    lol, it's a 2.2, they're hardly going to discount the tax because it's a 520 :pac:

    e39 never came with a 2.0 diesel. 525tds, 525d and 530d only.

    It did on the continent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,903 ✭✭✭cadaliac

    it will be taxed for whatever it says in the log book.
    2.2 = tax for a 2.2
    2.0 = tax for a 2.0
    depends what actually comes in the car. No getting away with less tax than whatever is the listed on the tax/log book.

    For the purposes of this thread unless they made rhd ones the ones on the continent don't really matter :)

    So the 530D's which are 520 on the log book have their engines swapped.

    No 520 left the factory with a 3.0 diesel in it.

    And no 530D should say 520 on the registration cert...

    Some people beat women, some people download childporn, doesn't mean that it should happen :rolleyes:
    Completely off topic for bangernomics anyway, I reckon you should start a new thread for whatever it is you're on about.

    Can't believe that hasn't gone yet. NCT goes a long way in bangernomics. Can't see the reg to check. Looks like it has been sitting up for a while - tyres are somewhat deflated.

    Does the E39 comes in 2.0 Diesel?

    Lads, would you stop it ?

    The E39 520d was only available in facelift and only for certain markets, mainly France and Belgium. It was never manufactured in RHD, which is, why all the ones you'd find for sale in the UK and in Ireland will be LHD, if you can find any at all.

    Bottom line: if it's 2l on the logbook and it's a RHD E39, something is fishy.

    Guys, I'm kicking myself that I don't have the money for this. The guy up the road from me owns it, it's such a clean example. http://www.cbg.ie/car_detail.aspx?ID=4188458

    94 VW Corrado with full history and on Irish plates. Only 95k and and and.... Someone please buy it before I lose my common sense and sell my Polo to get it!
