Got a call back there. Apparently tis driving fine, down a bit on power in the mornings but the fella who had it drove it 50 miles a day to Kenturk. I'll go down tomorrow for a gander and see what the craic is, if it's still there!

@RJ if only it was mine ;)

Nice one @Limerick man, if you do bite the bullet tell the dealer Haruki would like his commission via postal-order;)

No NCT though, and tax up end May. But still, looks a minter

This alfa is mine and i would put it in for the test, (will need a cv joint but i'll get this done, slight tear in the upper part but still full of grease)
but i can't get a space in any test centre but am on waiting list.
Am going to be driving a 660 cc subaru vivio as my daily as the mr2 turbo i have has a drinking problem.

    Sorry for waffling a bit.

Two year test and asking price of €2250 for an 01 520i?? Doesn't seem too bad to me, way more looney stuff has been posted in here. A case could be made for that BMW no bother.

Here's a nice 7 seater with a good bit of NCT left

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Gone already, TigerTim!

No surprises there. Surely he could have gotten a grand for it?

Looks like a bargain, but I'm not sure, something doesn't feel right to me. "JUST HAD NEW ABS CONTROL UNIT FITTED". Really? A brand new one? The part alone is the guts of a grand. No one is gonna fit a new 1k part to a 2k car, surely? The unit can be reconditioned for a few hundred. I'm not saying the seller is lying, just that I don't believe them :)

The buyer probably will get close to it, I stuck up an old corolla last week at 2.30pm gone from driveway at 4.30pm

    Couldn't believe it.

Ah but them old Corollas are worth their weight in gold :)

The 1.3 petrol is probably one of the most reliable cars ever! Well made and void of any modern systems / electrics apart from the stuff that makes a car reliable, like EFI

Funny thing about this corolla, it was an ex squad motor still had the inspection light inside, body work was pretty scabby and interior had holes all over the place when radios and stuff were removed.

In saying that it drove like an 08 machine..

not really true bangernomics, but a cheap to buy (debatable), rare, quirky, fun, cheap to run little car.

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2168288

No, not bangernomics imo. Too expansive for the year, even if good value for that individual car.
You could get a lot more car for that money. A lot more.:)

Another 7 seater, NCT till Aug. Even cheaper...

But when you consider the running costs of it. Tax is nothing, fuel costs will be tiny no matter how you drive. And it'd be a hoot to drive! It's no 735i but it's a fun little motor by the looks of it!

    another lash at bangernomics

it would be interesting to see what "little work" is, the car looks tidy.

"Drives straight" that's why it so cheap. No good for going round bends?

The auld lad had an 850 estate back in the 90's, the turning circle is around 10 metres, which in his language was "turning on a penny".
