langdang thanks for offer of spares for mazda 626 - i recently got two rear caliper sets very reasonable from scrappie up north were put on this week and so far so good - are working fine so far so hopefully will be ok for nct retest tomorrow afternoon so will keep updated

labour was quite a bit cost wise on the job so if i get 2 year nct on it and as i do low mileage so if i can get 2 years driving out of it then it really will have owed me nothing.

    Thank again.

    Jaysis!

Some car, i'd hazard a guess and say that it probably needs thousands to sort out.

A 1990 ford sierra sapphire diesel with 32000 miles on the clock  if genuine, would be a fine motor to have for a few years... http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2174311

My C70 Convertible had an even worse turning circle. I could get into Jury's car park (Spanish Arch, Galway), but I couldn't get into any of the bays due to lack of turning capability.

I hate ads like this. Such a desirable car and some lazy twat owns it and is trying to sell it and sell it badly. The interior is dirty, the exterior is dirty, the description is bollocks to be fair. Too many extras or simply to lazy to input them.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

That 850i has gotta be a heap, surely?

10m for a large (FWD!!!) estate is very, very good!

Edit - just looked it up for reference and indeed it was only 10m. Fair play to your old man, he was spot on. Normally RWD cars have a better turning circle but just a quick pick of one of its RWD competitors, an E34 BMW 5-series estate has a turning circle of 11m

LOL, they have 5 digit clocks... I'd say the mileage is as genuine as the wheels :P

If the 1.6 petrol is anything to go by, you'd get quicker place with a sulky being pulled by two nana's.

Has to be. Nobody sells an 850i for that price without forgetting to mention the autobox only works in reverse or something...

Seeing just how much time and effort went into the ad, i'd say everything it says is suspect...

    Not that it says much!!!!!!

If you look at the pic of the interior it should give you an idea of how well the whole car was (not)maintained. Its a pity because thats my favourite BMW.

Maybe a chap who has lost interest and just wants rid?

    Actually, probably not! :p

Yeah just noticed the interior. Look at the wear on the driver's seat! If you could beat him down to €2k you could store it until its 30th birthday though.

Might be the best use for that car. Looks terrible to me.
If you are going to get an 850, its best to get a proper one.

    era a good ol t-cut and a hoover :D

Depends on the engine and gearbox. Probably needs suspension/steering/brakes rebuild not to mention interior/exterior at the very least.
Talking 5-6k I reckon if it needs them then engine and gearbox and maybe exhausts.

Could set you back 10 total and it's as fiddly as f*ck.

Of course, it could just be manky :D

I'll give him 2 if he delivers it. Got no answer from him.

    As the ad puts it.
