Seems very cheap, lots of them give autobox trouble. CLass motors though.

Surprised to hear about the autobox trouble. I thought Honda autoboxes were very reliable (they make their own)?

    Not your ornery onager

So much car for the money! If I were in the market for a luxobarge, I'd snap it up. And here's most people in this country buying crappy little sh1tboxes for 10 times that money. They are insane!!!

AND I AM in the market for a car but the litreage is too much for my insurance budget. :(

EDIT Actually, inital quote on Aviva is €915 Fully Comp. Tempting!!! :D Motor Tax is killing it though especially for a weekend motor. :(

Quite a car for the money provided it doesn't have any hidden surprizes.

You're only a very young fella so :)

Fully comp on that LS would be about €300-€400 for me...

Only the 1st page before calling up. Usual details
    5+ years no claims
Didn't ask for Value of car nor address or location of driving or overnight of car
Didn't get as far as occupation.

Basic website details. Only used Aviva as example.

Oddly recently got quote for €1280 or so on a 2011 M3 Coupe so it's flawed somewhere.

The LS is not a fun car to drive; it's luxurious with plenty of power, but pretty much the opposite of what I would want from a weekend car. That would be my daily driver, with a smaller, fun weekend car.

And if you're a young fella like Unkel is saying, then there's a host of less practical but more fun cars that you should drive before you need to buy a barge.

The tiptronic in those 2.2 Ludes is a huge weakness on them. The 4 speed auto in the 93 one I had was factory tight in fairness to it.

    And €2500 for me :(

Hopefully when I get a chance to buy an LS the 430 will almost be in Bangernomics territory.

    Re: LS400

I have it insured as a classic on the tails of the Starlet.

I must say that it's by far the most refined motor I've had the pleasure to drive/own (Yet it's quite simply built - proper mid/old school quality Toyota build).

I reckon the motor has another 150k in it judging by the sound of it.

Only things needs doing to it is a common rectification to the PAS pump but it's not critical. I also have c. 100 Eur (5l) of Tpe IV Toyota ATF that I didn't get around to doing.

iirc RJ knows his Ludes ;)

Best one out there imo is the 4th Gen BB4 running the H22A 2.2si VTEC manual with LSD and the digital LCD Dash (not necessary but nice to have). Wonderful car brilliantly put together. Really really really miss mine.
Only the JDMs came with the 196bhp version.

That's not banger money, that's pocket money! though I'd rather see her on bare black steelies than those 'orrible spurious cheap & nasty wheel trims.

Always suspicious when people give a reason for selling.

I have a 2.5 10 valve S70 that's off the road which I'm looking to recommission and then sell.

It's a much higher spec then that; that yoke doesn't even have A/C.

Thats a very nice motor. I am glad I dont have 1200 to spare because it would break my heart in deciding between that and E39`s LS400.

Oops two cars - three including an e39 - my bad, misread the post
