Maybe he can't afford the fuel to drive it to the test centre?

Most likely selling it on behalf of someone else or otherwise a wheeler dealer type, doubt the seller is the actual owner.

That old 520 would be a nice car if it was in good nick, 150HP straight 6, great way for a poor student like me to get a "proper" car :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,903 ✭✭✭cadaliac

It costs money to keep a car like that on the road.
You could do better with a cheaper car, cost wise.

Yes, it's a Volvo. You know what to expect of me these days: http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2429471

A bit of tax and a long NCT.

Old school VAG diesel too, although I am not sure on the possibility of running it on Veggie oil.

Talking to a friend last night who has an E30 with what I assume is the same 2.0 engine and he reckons he can get 30mpg out of it! I'd love a 520i just trying to find a cheap, unmolested one is hard to get.

Taxed till start of next year,
tax alone is worth over 350.00 its a total bargain
if running right, needs to be right those engines, No blue smoke, timing correct, which is a bitch on these, can be a tooth out and still be running decent but not right, needs to have history for the timing belt too, they can break and ruin your engine,
head gaskets also a problem, though the 940 td is less prone than the old 740 td,
if all checked out it would be great car for 450 euro tax 350

A 92 is quite likely a 12v engine which is approx 130hp, still plenty to move it around but the later 24v is the one with 150. the 2.5 24v has 192hp though and if you drive it carefully can do better mpg than the 2.0 in some circumstances. None of them are particularly easy on fuel but they're not ridiculous either considering what they are

They do need to be exactly right that's true but great cars one you look after them and while not fast they have huge power for towing if you had a boat, horsebox, trailer full of heavy objects to move regularly.
A great advantage if you're both tall and wide like myself is they have loads of space and nice comfy seats.

Why do I see the outline of a persons body on the drivers door? Anybody else see it(without the head of course).

Never trust the picture of a car when the paintwork is wet but for the year and the money and if you're not interested in condition of paintwork then go for it.

Automatic, too.... ad says "wat a driver belt done" - presume that should read 'wants timing belt done'.

Of course - because the head is in the boot! :D

No, I can't see the body . There is a similar type mark/effect on the passenger door....

    A Corona for CarinaBoy: http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2439721

These later models have a passing resemblance to contemporary Peugeot's.

It was dark when i looked but I think it was a light shade of met blue. Sky blue maybe? Can't be sure.

You can have the two doors for €800 and the rest of the car for free :pac:

I know of a perfectly good one that requires two doors and it's cheaper than what you've posted so I'll pass, thanks :P
