" Cheap vintage insurance 133 per annum."

    Is this correct?
    Correct.

But it is not the insurance cost that is the problem with a car like this one ;).

Slightly OT but how does Vintage insurance work? I thought it was 25/30 years for Vintage tax and insurance.

It depends on the insurance company and each one have own rules. So you can find a company that will insure your 20 years old car on Classic Policy.
Vintage motor tax is only for cars over 30 years old.

I'm surprised people have largely ingnored this. For cheap, no-nonsense motoring it should be pretty much unbeatable at the price.

Although the seller states it has a timing belt when I'm almost certain these have a chain.

Some places insure 10 to 15 year olds as Classics, you need a daily driver and policy too though.

Lol I can think of alot better things to spend a grand on than something that was rusting when it came out of the factory :L

A4 / A6 Avants are holding on to their value very well, especially in Quattro form. This looks like it could be tidied up fairly handy once the steering rack ain't damaged.

Low mileage? If that's it then my 94' Corolla is Super Low with only 75,000 miles.

Yeah that 309 is in stunning condition ....anyone reckon they know why?Got to have been garaged practically 24/7 and/or washed /waxed constantly right?

Well the average mileage per year seems to be supposedly about 10,500 according to a few online things so if your car did around that much every year it would be close to 180,000

Looks good shane, slightly odd spec, no alloys or cd but has leather. It's the right engine and has a recent belt change.

    Pure bangeromics

I thought you were mistaken there, but I checked again and it does indeed list leather in the advert. How strange.

Here's an early Phase 1 850, which are very rare these days. They had the bigger single beam headlamps and chunkier bumpers:

Not bad value really at 650 with tax and a test.

The brother bought a 1994 850 when he came back from oz back in 04 for 900 quid! I fell in love with it until the heated seat element burnt through the seat and my jeans and left a nasty mark on my arse! Haha! Big barge for half nothing at the time although it was a killer on fuel. He got 1300 quid on a trade in towards something else 6 months later.

We actually sold a '93 example for 1k in '02. It was in bits though.

Even the most basic models had heated seats and headlamp washers. I've seen a few cases of them going on fire (I think there might have been a recall on this).

The brothers one had a ball of extras except for leather. It even had a 6 disc cd changer although I think that was aftermarket. I was only 16 when he got it but I was amazed by the electric aerial and the factory fitted baby seat! :P Its the only car that anyone in my family owned that I miss, including my own past cars.

Its rough as though, and is it me, or does the back wheel look to be sitting skewed? As in its toe out? Drift spec, perhaps? :)

Hell, if it drove for a week, you'd probably get it back on scrapping it for metal! And it's a 1.2, not the dreaded 1.0l
