The style of 1990's Mitsubishi's was imposing; almost 'shark nose' BMW style.

Bangernomics at it's very best good find.

I especially like the 'hand painted black' part..:)

The shiny handbrake lever also really makes that interior so much better too...

They used to be fairly popular.

I was always surprised they never developed a new model for sale

There is a new Galant too.
So far, I've only seen one in Ireland.

IMO these were the nicest Galants. We used to have one that burnt oil like a boiler, even after repairs to the top of the engine, but very comfortable and nice to drive too.

Mondeo anyone? NCT Aug '12 €995.
Anyone have experience with them, I'm in the market for something cheap and reliable.

Just noticed some dents on the drivers side front wing, probably worse in real life.

It says '2 elderly gentlemen owners from new'. Probably means the clutch is ruined..:p

Many of those 1.8s burn loads of oil, I'd fancy an admissions test before buying one of them. It's cheap though and they are a fine, big and comfy car.

Alright car for the money with Tax and Test, negotiate your way down a bit and you'll have a nice car for a year atleast:

Yeah spotted a few ads that stressed they weren't burnin a drop of oil!
This one made me laugh. "only change oil"

It's not 'turn key' motoring with NCT and tax, so therefore isn't eligible for bangernomics. Would it be be viable as a fixer-upper though I wonder?

He'll be back in Australia by now?

    - Gearbox diagnosis is bullsh1t
    - no doubt the timing belt is due (they always are :pac: )
    - rough, neglected ole yoke

Worth sfa really, wouldn't pay you to do it up.

I think we should have a new thread.... cars for sale on donedeal that will "fly through the test"... but oddly don't actually have a cert yet.

Ok firstly, take not, this is NOT a proper bangernomics car, just posting it here as people often post various massive old barges including many LS400s (a lot of those without either of the bangernomics requirements of either tax or test and it has an NI reg but anyway....). This is just for the sake of a few people seeing it, at present it does not qualify but it is a bit of an oddity, in this country at least and this thread is probably the best place in the main motors forum to discuss an unusual old car found for sale on the internet.
Just for general interest here it is

    Lexus "ES300"

550 euro, Nct 5/13 Tax 10/11 Fsh, admittedly it's 1.6 petrol but it has to be a bargain, I had a diesel one and the early ones are no way as unreliable as people make out

LOL, are you serious to even mention it? It looks knackered, and they're looking for 1300 + 720 VRT before you even have a chance to get it through the NCT?

Looks grand. They're nice comfortable cars to be in. Only ever drove the diesels though, and in work it was only ever diesels we saw leased out so not sure what the petrol is like.
