Looks like the same thread pattern as the accelleras on my MGF.

Not a bad tyre for the price

I have the Accelera Phi on the ZT, not bad at all. Wouldn't have chance them to be honest only they were on the 520i and proved themselves very capable even when I would have preferred them not to be.
You'd buy a much nicer 75 for not much more tbh!

True, but the 600 is Honda engined and in fairness there's a lot less to go wrong than with a 75. The 600 is a fine bus too, I had one for 6 months or so about 5 years ago.

The 2.0 V6 is fine in them, The Rover 600 is real 90's in my opinion, bangernomics to me is about looking at good (and driving as good) as you can for such little money, the 75 wins over the 600 anyway.

The g/f's brother is a taxi driver and he reckons the accelera range are the perfect tyre for a working vehicle. Durable, good grip (better than triangles) and able to take knocks from potholes etc without tyre wall damage.

Not the best tyre but a reasonable all rounder

    I agree :)

But the V6 has VIS motors (common fail), stat housing is prone to leaking (more or less a 30k mile service item) and is awkward to get at, the timing belts are expensive to get done though many are on the originals , the inlet manifolds are another weakness, the clutch's too and expensive to get done.

The ordinary Joe could actually buy a fairly poor example without even realising :pac:

But the ordinary Joe doesn't know about bangernomics, does he? ;)

The belts in my one were done at 70 odd miles...

I sold the E30 too, by an accident. I kinda told a fella that was to spray my Golf that I'd sell it a few days after I bought, he landed at my door yesterday and it was driving away before I could blink my eye! It's gone to a good home either way! Next on the list is a 7er... But that'll be Jan.

Actually, it says that it needs tyres and airbag light turned off for test, which indicates, it doesn't have one. Still good value.

    /M

Nope. Its more likely just a block connector for the pre tensioner under one of the front seats that has been dislodged. More often than not just pushing it back together knocks out the light.

no tax, NCT coming along in a few months - could be worth a punt but the picture of the steering wheel is funny!

I thought all Aero's models were HOT turbo?

    Yes they are.

The car in question is a rare V6 though.

Looks ok apart from high tax..

The gearshift lever in that doesn't match the engine it's fitted to. All two litre models had an M56 transmission like the bigger cars and didn't have the ring collar that you have to pull up for reverse.

Would it be possible that the original gearlever got badly worn in 11 years and that one was put on as a replacement?

It is quite possible, but I wonder would it fit?

I should be buying this, not posting it here, but that is some bus for the money. Loads of NCT and very small miles for the year (okay, suspiciously low, but if it drives ok, who cares?) like driving a big old couch around.

Somebody please explain why I should not give this man some money.....

If you're being serious, all I've ever seen is Mondeos, Scorpios and Granadas.

On the subject of Ford Scorpio's, I actually think the later ones with the tinted headlights can look OK:

They are an ugly brute no doubt, but still strangely appealing somehow.
