a friend of mine has bought around 6-7 Shi....."bangeromic" ;) cars over the course of his young life (only 23) and he is currently driving a pos colt, he is broke from doing it ffs, and heres me still rocking my 2000 fiesta :D

What exactly is your point? You're in bangermonics yourself if you're driving a 12 year old fiesta.

As mentioned though, your friend seems a gnome.

that fiesta is a thing of brilliance :D wasnt trying to make any point in particular just food for thought

oh most definitely, most of the cars where working grand, he just wanted to change them  his current colt is a pos but it gets him from a to b sure and its not a pain in the ass to tax and insure

If he is just fancying a change then surely he is selling the car he has for pretty close to what he paid for it, so how is he losing money?

If he can't sell the car after a few months driving for near what he bought it for, or even more, then its not really Bangernomics to start with. He's just buying overprice old cars and changing every so often.

No actually - its the principle of telling a lie straight off the bat. What else are they being dishonest about?

Just p1sses me right off actually.

If I was in the market for such a car, at that price and the car was straight and good value, the owner could tell me that the night was day for all I care.
I would value the car and pay the price - knowing that the owner was telling me lies.

It doesn't get away from the fact that they are telling you lies though.
    That's the point.

Kinda surprised it's not taxed even for three months only costs 40 quid, would help sell it although the 2 year NCT does that quite well anyway.

Top money for a Bangernomics car but these things go forever and this one has pretty low mileage for an 02 diesel C5. Good for another 100,000 anyway and 60 mpg to boot. Get it as close to a grand as possible and sell it in a 100k/5 years for 500 quid. Now thats bangernomics ;)

And if this is a DIY fix for someone whos handy then knock a few quid of the asking price and this would be a serious bangernomics contender. Depends on the fix though. My guess is its rust around the rear struts which is a common problem on these and an NCT fail ;)

I dunno about that. Almost a grand for an old Polo with 200,000 miles on the clock. No thanks.

Jaysus! Big miles for a wee Polo.

Who in their right mind would do that mileage in a Polo O.o

Potentially fantastic, if it's running ok and you were doing the miles 'twould nearly have itself paid for come NCT time in May.

Possibly the only car I'd pick over a 7 series! Lovely, lovely cars.

Jesus, I think they are probably the ugliest car ever made and not too special on the inside either

I've a polo. I would. :) The three door feels very comfy inside. On motorways, I was getting ~45mpg. Don't ask me how, but those engines are efficient in high revs for some reason! A little loud though, but the stereos on the 3 door are really nice. 980 for that is a little steep, probably end up going for ~550/600. Quite reasonable for a first car or a runabout that's fun and cheap to keep going.

Chuckle chuckle, he was on about the Jag and I was taking the p1ss :)
    I'd take a diesel C5 for a grand if I was doing 2000 miles/month no bother though.
