Dealer price is always more expensive then private sale.

I don't see too much wrong with that tbh.

It looks pretty clean and it has a decent length nct on it, plus I like the shape of that model clio.

^ Meh...... thats how you do business, best of luck to them if its an honest car. He should have told the seller to take the car ad off the site though.
Ad is marked as sold - I had it in my watch list which is why I can still access it and get the links.

Ignoring the front damage, Id say its rough as f*ck on the body. Ive a feeling it is a patch work of different silvers and generally in poor shape.
Can only see a limited amount from the photos but the whole front doesnt appear to be the original colour.
The close up of body where the 24v V6 badge is stuck looks like its made of fillers too

Bodywork can be fixed though and at that price assuming the mileage is genuine it's some bargain. If you even got 100 quid off and paid 650 for it, you could put €1000 into bodywork and still it would be worth something.

    It's still a V6 Alfa with 70k miles for 700 quid!

Much as I like big alfas (I did own a 166), I wouldnt look at that one. Those were 70,000 hard miles if genuine given the state of the bodywork.

I know profiteering isn't illegal, but jeez, give it more than a week before you put it back on exactly the same site where you sourced it from!

    How is a 3.2 taxed as a 2.0?

It has no NCT, you'd be off your head to put €1000 into that full stop, not to mind into bodywork.

Just checked it on motor tax site, registered as 2.0

Presumably as both sellers described it as a 3.2 it is a 3.2, weird enough a garage selling a 3.2 that's registered as a 2.0, or is it? :)

Oh I've gone better than that... ;)

Edit: That car you posted nearly gave me a heart attack!!!

You can take the engine out and drop it into a Bravo iirc, as well as the front seats etc. Would be a nice trick to pull on someone...

    Corrected ;)

Edit: Don't forget the steering wheels fit too

Infact a lot of stuff fits...

Maybe read the ad properly next time RJ as it says NCT until 09/2012. Therefore putting a couple of hundred quid into the bodywork seems ok to me.

    Oh my mistake, apologies :)
It must be well ropey so given the asking price.

A grand is alot more than a couple of hundred though ;)

I was thinking assuming it's sound mechanically (which it mightn't be) spend maybe 7-800 quid on bodywork and you have a seriously nice machine for less than 1500. That's bangernomics in my book anyway. :)

I looked at that photo quite a few times wondering the same thing. Its a Shogun though, not a Pajero, so it had to have been imported from the UK or NI at some point. Whoever dealt with it for VRT either cocked up, or got slipped a brown envelope is my only guess

Auto fluid change often works wonders on them, not worth risking it though, could be gone beyond it, no mention of NCT, madness expecting a grand for it.

That is so far from Bangernomics it might as well be moon rock.

Ancient, very expensive to tax, very expensive to fuel, expensive to service and your chances of selling it on in a year or two are very slim. Its probably worth €250 to someone who likes them.

Surely this 728 for 1,400 is worth a look

Just catching up here now but what's the story? That 7er is showing as €2400. Has it gone up or are we assuming a 40% discount off advertised price for anything over 2 litres now?

He probably mistyped the price originally or increased it when he got too many calls. Nothing new. It was 1400 when posted.

Yeah, I figured €2,400 was probably a fair price for a reasonably quick sale. For a grand less it wouldn't hang around for long.

Actually it could be the power of the Bangernomics thread too.

Too many dumb asses ringing up the owner asking questions with absolutely no intention of buying the car. Hence the owner thinks the car is under priced and hikes up the price.

There are a lot of people looking at this thread.
