Lot of car for the money granted running costs would be high but its an M5View2?id=3648808

    MAJOR FAIL FOR BANGERNOMICS

....but its only your 5th post so we'd better explain the rules. Simple really . Bangernomics is about as much car with as few failings , as much test , as much tax , as exclusive / premium / luxury / different as possible and all for as close to a grand as you can get. 7 grand blows a mega hole in the bangernomics budget :P

It's a fail for bangernomics alright.

But it's also a fail in any other sense:
    - the seller can't spell
    - the seller doesn't have a clue (example: M5 doesn't have a spare, ever, but that's not the only thing where he went wrong)
    - he's running the wrong oil, so the engine is questionable

Facit: stay away, she might not be worth half the money.

    /M

Mazda Xedos 6. Nice plush aul bus if he'd take €1500. That V6 is a dream too.

nah...I want this despite I have one already: http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1470104
Started to look at this one back in 2007. Back then he was asking 7500 then it dropped to 4500 last year and now 3800. I can wait a bit more :D

626 for €600. As dull as an Irish summer's day but great value and very dependable.

(Sucks air through teeth and strokes chin) Those Quattroportes have massive presence and the V8 will undoubtedly be a thing of joy but I'd imagine you'd have to budget for big breaks.

That particular (older generation) Quattroporte is a V6 ...the Italian "tax special" 2.0 V6 biturbo, in fact...and as the name implies, the engine stems from the Maserati Biturbo of ill-fated, self-destructing fame.

(Jeez ...I'm itching to have a go in this :D)

I stand corrected. Now that you mention it didn't the Italians have a crazy tax rate for two litre plus cars back in the 90s hence the market for the 2.0 BiTurbo? I'd love a go all the same but I'd be afraid to cane it as there's a very real possibility that I'd break it and therefore have to buy it. Gimme a bent eight any day.

Funny enough i have been thinkin of an e36. Ya reckon 318 is about as good as i would do. I love the e30 but would be weary as they would be more likely to give trouble. Am i right in saying this.

Iv also been told the e36 are a bitch in the wet or is this not true. Only been in a few and they seem sound.

Interesting - thats taxed as a limo. Would I be able to continue taxing it as such as a private owner on private insurance?

It would be a huge saving on the €1566 annual tax!

Not a Honda head, but is most likely not the hot 2.2, more of a cruiser than a sports car - B22 is the engine I think?

Someone mentioned a 626 cheap? Any link? I'm about to sell my current one to BP to use for killing off oil wells.

The classic FIAT 500 in front of it would be pretty cool car to have. Not that you could use it outdoors in Ireland, you'd have to keep it in a dehumidified cabinet:(
Saw loads of those still in daily use in Italy.

One of the best in the thread I reckon, I bought one of these 3 years ago for €1700 but the dealer rang me before I collected it to say she had been stolen

Wow, he could get €1000 for the interior alone if he parted it out. Thats a bargain and a half, only 130k miles? I'd jump on it if I had the room for it!

It will not break down. It's a myth distributed by Vw drivers that these brake down. I have the same model for a good few years just 3.2 litre V8 and since I have it nothing wrong ever happened. I test drove this particular car back in 2007 and I know it is good. This guys is a car collector and cars are being stored in nice room conditions. Yes, it has a bit cracked leather on the driver seat and some show of the age but nothing major. It's a really good car. I want this but having one already puts me into fight with my missus. :) However if the price will go down a bit more I'll go for it.

    If it's a VTEC it'll have either the F22B1 or the F22Z2, if it's non-VTEC it'll have the F22B2. I'd imagine it's the Z2 though.
