Did you buy it like that or were you stung with it?

    Nice car all the same.

Stung! I'd fix it and keep it, but I A: Don't have the money and B: I've lost interest! It could be the case of new tappets, which would be a very cheap fix and car all round!

    Sorry to hear that, LM.

You live and learn in the world of bangernomics I suppose.

You'd need huge luck not to buy at least one sh1tter that you thought was sound if you buy 5 or 6 very cheap yokes. All part of the fun really.

Oh yeah, of course. I'm not saying bangernomics is a bad thing at all and I'm a big follower of it myself.

Reckon I'm gonna stick the Alfa GTV up, clutch spring or else master cylinder is acting up, there's no rules to how long you've to keep a bangernomics for is there??!! Long term goal is a mint E30 325i coupe but in the meantime even an E36 318is would satisfy my missed RWD cravings.

Sorry to hear about the Saab LM - nice looking car.

Nope! Go through 4 €1k bangernomics cars in the one year and you've suffered less depreciation than on a new family saloon :D

We're getting above ourselves with all these e3500 classics. This ain't Classics, it's Bangernomics, which means value for money AND circa e1000!

Way too many manuals sneaking in too ;)

    Righty then, what about this:

    My suspicious senses are tingling....

the mileometer is blanked out in the shot of the dashboard, and no mention of miles in the ad.

It would happen to be a feckin' ancient Astra. Still, can't complain if it's free.

Ooh, I so would as I need a car right now to get around while I fix my Puma...
But then I'ld have to pay for insurance and I don't have any money... :(

Badly tinted windows and fake AMG alloys are enough to put me off any Merc, let alone this one. Once you factor in VRT as well, you'll probably find another example quite easily for a similar price.

^ooh, i love those E39 5 series. The E39 M5 is one of my dream cars... I think the E39 5 series was the best looking 5 series so far. I like it more than the new F10 one. The E60 on the other hand was one of the ugliest BMW imo.

If only it was in Dublin...

Although I'll see if its still around next week, might consider taking a train down to limerick...

Looks like a nice clean motor, but quick goggle and this phone number had a lot of cars for sale so...."car has been around my family for about 8 years" hmmm. Although for €650 it would make a nice runabout/daily fiver it may could be good, it you knew what you're looking at.

These sort of ads drive me mad to be honest.

Why go to the bother of taking pics & constructing an ad for your car & then leave out important info like mileage & type/size of engine???

exaclty my thoughts Donedeal needs a new format for the car ads. They never have the info your looking for

1.6 petrol i'd say, given the 4A-FE code on the engine pic.

I'm surprised they gave so much! An avensis can be sold on "Grand car, driving perfect" going by many of the ads on Donedeal. If it's a Toyota and diesel isn't mentioned, you can safely assume it is the smallest available engine for that car..

Also, if mileage isn't mentioned on an avensis - it's probally intergalactic. All the ads that I rang when I was looking, that didn't have mileage listed on the ad, generally had huge mileage.
If a car had small miles you would advertise the fact.
