A good 1998 one could be got now for under €2000, can't see a 2000 fetching anymore than that in 2012 :) Depends what you call good resale :) Defo sounds a good car for the money though

    Run Forest, run!

Hrm, just curious but is there ever a legitimate reason for blanking out the number plates like that? It'd make me a bit suspicious anyway :P

2 problems that I can see surface rust and its manual.

That said its only €750 which lets be fair you'd get it a few quid cheaper.

Cheap insurance 15 year old Merc and all that.

If its been posted already I missed it sorry.

That car could've saved MG Rover if only the management weren't idiots with the pricing.

    Yeah... *shudders*

That's the last car I want to see more of on the roads!

I know the car in general is horrid, but at something like 5-6k it would've made a lot of sense to UK buyers. Many older generations who previously owned a Metro would've bought it for example.

That's very true, I'd love to see how Mg's and Rovers would look if they were still about today.

At that kind of money, it starts to make sense as utilitarian transport with proven mechanicals. It's biggest failing when new was the price, there was a market for it if it had been sold at close to half the price Rover were charging which should have been possible given the prices Tata charge for their version.
