If you buy a thing for small money that you reckon is sound and you knock 6 months out of it you are in a good position, most of them can be sold on for much the same as what you paid for it or of course you can keep running it.
My position at the mo, bought for the price of a decent set of tyres, if it gets NCT at the end of those 6 months I'll easily sell it for what I paid for it. If it fails or breaks before then, meh. Cut the cat out of it and sell on the wheels and tyres.

I have to agree. It does look like a pretty neat, clean car. Maybe a little lip spoiler and you've got a pretty cool economic practical car for less than €1k

On another note, sporty number, lowish mileage for the age, nct and tax AND a badge. Looks clean enough also.

Potentially a cracking buy. Hate that front grill.

Just depends if its been boy raced or not.

Priced well with a long NCT.

Bought for peanuts,NCT is just up but the car has 5 brand new tyres, new shocks and pads n shoes, and a verified 42K on the clock along with a couple of months tax.

A trained Ape could work on one of these things.

There's something kinda cool about a 3 door estate car! I'd be searching for some XR3i wheels if I had bought that :)
    Any pics of the interior?

Did those JDM Camry's ever come with a petrol engine? Only ever saw them with the 2.2L diesel unit.

I think there was a 1.8 litre petrol version, but it would've been quite rare.

Up until a few years ago you couldn't cross a street without seeing one of these. I think the fact that they were available in automatic with a diesel engine was one of the main reasons they found popularity with taxi drivers.

That 1.6 petrol would be a very desirable engine for a bangernomics car. It's very old and low tech and has been in Audis for decades. Very little to go wrong compared to its tractor sisters :D

What is it about old fords i kinda like?!:pac:

The old boxy 80's escorts & granada's are sort of retro cool. The capri is a legend of a thing, im mad about em. Near me theres a guy owns a spotless black capri with a red pinstripe down the side & it gets all the looks from everyone.

Clutch gone, modifications which have to be declared to insurance, no mention of NCT and high tax. That's about as far from banger economics as you can get.

Clearly - but even for small money these days you don't need to resort to piles like that.
