Mr Anderson must not have found the new sofa yet.:D
He is playing some great darts at the moment, may stick a few euro on him for the UK Open

Anderson in cracking form at the moment and it's all happening for him at the right time with the UK Open less than a fortnight away.

Surprised William O'Connor isn't playing this weekend considering his in contention for a place in the World Matchplay? Still in the current financial climate it can't be easy for him to play in all tournaments. Hopefully he'll qualify for Blackpool which would boost him financially.

Just found out there off another thread that the reason Willie and Shane O'Connor are not playing this weekend is because whoever was responsible for entering them into the tournament forgot to do it! It could prove to be a costly mistake especially with so many of the big names out and a small entry field they could have made extra money towards the rankings.

Gary Anderson beats Wes Newton in the final 6-5, and going by the leg to leg reports on planed darts the final was a cracker.

Anderson beats Andy Smith 6-3 in todays final. A handy £12.000 for two days work :D

    Final - Leg-by-leg
    Andy Smith v Gary Anderson
0-0 - Gary Anderson wins the bull and will throw first
0-1 - Anderson hits two 140s to be first to a finish, with double six giving him the opening leg in 16 darts.
0-2 - Anderson lands a 180, and both players leave 121 after nine darts, before both also missing the bullseye for the finish. Smith then misses two darts at double eight, and Anderson breaks on double eight for a 15-darter.
1-2 - Smith breaks back immediately with a 14-darter, which featured two 140s to open and double four to end the leg.
    2-2 - Anderson scores 140, 100 and 180, but misses double 13 for a 12-darter and Smith levels with a fine 116 finish, ending on double 18.
2-3 - A strong leg from Anderson sees him edge back in front with a 14-dart leg, finished with a 96 checkout, as Smith leads himself on 78 after 12 darts.
2-4 - Anderson edges a potentially pivotal leg, having initially missed double 18 for a 110 finish, Smith wasted a dart at double top and two at double ten as the Scot returned to hit double one and double 17 for the leg.
2-5 - Smith opens the seventh with a 180, but Anderson is first to a finish as double four takes him a leg away from victory.
3-5 - Smith is first to a finish, but misses tops for a 120 finish to give Anderson his chance - but he is also off-target with double top for a 110 checkout as his opponent returns to hit the bed and keep the match alive.
3-6 - Anderson scores 140 and 180, followed by 105 to leave 76, and although he misses double eight and four returns to hit double two for the win.

Day 2 under way in Crawley and Willie O'Connor has been knocked out in the 1st round. Willie's chances of qualifying for the World Championship have taken a major blow this weekend with Belgium's Kim Huybrechts having 2 good days to overtake Willie in the PC rankings.

2 events left at the end of November to qualify for the World Championship. Personally I think Willie will have to do a personal PDC best and reach a semi final in 1 of these tournaments in order to qualify IMO.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭dartbhoy

A good day for Brendan Dolan as he has reached the semi finals where he plays either Belgian Kim Huybrechts or yesterday's winner Justin Pipe. Dave Chisnall v Co Stompe in other semi final.

Taylor beats Ronnie Baxter 6-1 in todays final in Wigan.

Brendan Dolan Beat Jimmy O'Regan, Jelle Klaasen before losing to Peter Wrigh in the 3rd round.
William O'Connor beat Adam Hunt 6-3, before losing 6-1 to Michael van Gerwen in the second round.
Aodhagan O'Neill beat Geoff Whitworth 6-4 before losing 6-0 to Vincent van der Voort in the second round.
I think Lewis has to win tomorrow’s tournament to make it into the players Championship’s. He is not playing well in the floor tournaments this year.

William O'Connor's chances of qualifying for the World Championship look slim after today's event. It would be a disaster for the PDC if Adrian Lewis doesn't qualify for the Players Championship especially with the event been screened live on ITV4. Looks highly unlikely at this stage that he'll qualify.

Lewis hasn't made the Players Championship grand finals. He had to win out today's tournament to qualify. Justin Pipe will be the number 1 seed for the Players Championship.

Willie O'Connor missed out on qualifying for the World Championship. A disappointing end to his year after a great start to it. There are 2 places left to fill from tomorrow's PDPA Qualifier which Willie can't enter due to competing in the Irish Qualifier earlier this year.

World Championship draw will be made on Sky Sports News on Tuesday at around 11 30am.
