    BAXTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    6-2 win over taylor

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 945 ✭✭✭padr81

Baxter usually gives Taylor a good game and is returning to form, I'm shocked at the score but only mildly suprised at the result. go on the rocket.

Fair play to Ronnie, most players bottle it against taylor, especially in a final. Yeah great run from Wright and two 9 darters were hit throughout the day and both by players who ended up losing their games!

The Curse of the 9 darter

Shane O Connor is throwing well in vegas, 2 good attempts at qualifying alongside jacko
and did a good day at the championship too, jacko out first round in the players championship which was unusual

Pity there's no irish in the Vegas

well done to Caven for today and Lewis for yesterday. Top marks to Lewis, to hit a 9 darter in any final is top darts.

Brendan Dolan has reached the final of today's tournament after whitewashing Mervyn King 6-0 in the semi final. He'll play James Wade in the final. Today's performance will surely secure him a place in the World Championship hopefully.

Reports coming out of Holland that Andy Jenkins assaulted Terry Jenkins after Terry's game with Colin Monk today. If this is true Andy Jenkins darts career could be over.

If it did happen its definitely time for him to hit the road now as I believe he was suspended for a similar incident a couple of years ago with Mick McGowan. frown.giffrown.gif

PDC website says Brendan could have enough points now to qualify for World Champs. Well deserved, it'll be a great show with him and close pal Aodaghan in the Pally together. smile.gifsmile.gif

Darts Regulation Authority Disciplinary Committee Hearing
    Friday 15th February 2008
The Disciplinary Committee made determinations that:-

Andy Jenkins had behaved in a manner likely to bring the sport of darts into disrepute at the German Darts Championship on 1st December 2007.

Mr Jenkins was suspended for twelve months, nine of which are suspended.

Wow what was Andy Jenkins playing at? Hard to imagine Terry provoked him considering he is such a nice lad. Never really liked Andy but would be a shame for his career to end over something so stupid.

On a brighter note well done to Brebdan Dolan, really playing well lately!

On another forum this morning it said another player Nick Fulwell was also involved in the incident. Judging by most reports most people are blaming Andy Jenkins for what happened yesterday and Terry was an innocent victim. Fulwell is a buddy of Terry's and him and Andy exchanged a few blows after Terry was decked by Andy. Still the DRA will take severe action against whoever is guilty. I knew Andy Jenkins had served a suspension last year for an incident at the German darts championship but i didn't know Mick McGowan had been the victim.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Yeah rumours are saying that Andy Jenkins was really shouting for Monk when Terry was playing him and this annoyed Terry. Words were exchanged and it went from there. You don't like to hear of these things in darts. The DRA will come down very tough on those involved and with Andy's suspended sentence he could be in real trouble.

Wes Newton beat Steve Beaton 6-5 in today's Scottish Players Championship Final. John Magowan reached the quarter finals where he got beat by Newton. Brendan Dolan reached the last 16 and he also lost to Newton in a close game 6-5. Dolan is guaranteed his place in he World Championship from the Players Championship order of merit. Day 2 tomorrow is the final chance for 16 players outside the top 32 to qualify from the PCOOM and Mark Webster currently holds the 16th and final position! Webster was the 2008 Lakeside World Champion so if he misses out it'll be a big surprise. Personally myself i hope he does well tomorrow and qualifies for Ally Pally.

Day 2 of the Scottish Players Championship took place today and Colin Osborne beat Michael Van Gerwen 6-4 in the final. Brendan Dolan reached the quarter finals where he lost to Osborne but his performances this weekend and the last few weeks has guaranteed him a place in the World Championship as well as the Players Championship next January in the Circus Tavern. Mark Webster only made the 2nd round today but with other results going his way he did enough to qualify for the World Championship.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Webster is a very lucky man, he has really flattered to deceive in the PDC so far. Still I am happy he has qualified and I hope he can push on and do well now.

    0-1 - Lewis opens with a 180 and hits double 16 for a 13-dart finish
0-2 - Taylor hits four scores of 100 but misses double 16 for 101 finish, and Lewis takes out 77 on double five
    1-2 - Taylor hits a 180 and takes out 82 on double top for a 12-dart finish
1-3 - Taylor misses double top and Lewis follows up a 174 with double 12
2-3 - Lewis this time misses on double top, and Taylor's earlier 171 leaves double 18 for a 13-darter
    3-3 - Taylor hits a second successive 13-darter, hitting a 177 to set up double 14
    4-3 - Taylor breaks throw with a 12-darter, opened with a 180 and finished with a 100 checkout
5-3 - Both players hit a 180, but Taylor lands double top for another 13-dart finish
6-3 - Taylor takes out a 66 finish of bull, double eight for a 15-dart finish
6-4 - Lewis ends a run of five successive legs from Taylor, punishing two misses at double top by landing double eight
6-5 - Lewis posts an 11-darter with scores of 134, 180, 140 and then finishing 47 on double top
6-6 - Lewis goes even better with a 10-dart finish, hitting 137, 180, 144 and double top to effectively make the game a best-of-three leg shoot-out
7-6 - Both players hit 180s and are on a finish after nine darts, but Lewis misses the bull for an 81 checkout and Taylor hits double 16 for a ten-darter
8-6 - Taylor seals victory on double 16 - but only after Lewis had hit six perfect darts with two 180s, only to miss two darts at double top to stay in the game
Final Averages: Taylor 106.80, Lewis 107.85

Holy crap, that sounds like some game of darts!!!!
