Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Problem with bowel movements - Help!

    Hi,
I have changed by diet in the last few weeks (4 weeks to be precise). Since last week I have been getting pains in my bowels and it's getting worse.

For the first two weeks of my new diet (trying to gain weight) I was going to the toilet three times a day and everything passed very easily.

Now I'm hardly even going once a day and I get a pain in my bowels when I do. Today was the worst yet and I was kind of constipated to (it was hard to pass - took a few mins)

Only since Monday I have been monitoring my fibre intake and watching that I'm eating vegtables. Yesterday I ate about 30g of fibre and the day before about 20g so this must not be the problem. Since Monday I have been eating an apple and orange every day and boiled veg (from frozen) with my dinner. Yesterday I had a carrot and stick of celery and I will do this every day from now on.

The only thing that's a little unusual about my new diet is that there is a high amount of dairy. I drink about 2 litres of milk every day, one or two yogurts and some cheese. I don't know how it could be this that's the problem as I've been taking this amount for the past four weeks and as I said I was grand for going three times a day for the first two weeks.

I'm afraid now that this will get much worse and I won't be able to bear the pain at all. Today was the worst as I said and it was pretty painful - it nearly made me physically get sick.

Sorry to hear that. It can't be pleasant.

If you are in pain - you should see a doctor - soon.

    Be well.
