Hi all. I outlined in another post that I've been having nightmares with eircom since last December. I'm on the 7 mb connection. Since December every evening between about 6.30 and 23.30 the ping is horrendous - well over the 450ms mark. I've been onto eircom but as most of you know it takes as longer than a conversation with one of the Ents to get anything sorted.
Eventually I got hold of a manager who said the problem is the exchange in Portlaoise. He said the exchange is being upgraded soon. But as its eircom I am as usual, not convinced.

Anyone else in the same situation re:ping?
Does anyone have any information on the status of this supposed exchange upgrade in portlaoise?
    Thanks in advance.

See other thread on this from a few days ago. It's the aggregation server in Portlaoise that is the issue. I can confirm from my reliable sources that this will indeed upgrade at end of next week.
