Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Delighted.

Someone who will make an effort to promote the league a lot.

And it's now officially the League Of Ireland again!!:D

It won't be called The Newstalk League of Ireland, they only got the naming rights for the A Division.

Still might, as noted above, Newstalk aren't the title sponsors.

For a second there I thought you were suggesting the OP should have posted this in the LOI transfers thread, because its a LOI topic.

Then I thought that noone would suggest we keep Irish football topics to one thread on an Irish football forum. Of course they wouldnt.

    Great news for the league.

I was merely pointing out that a conversation was ongoing regarding it already.

    Relax. Deep breaths.

Nice to see newstalk getting behind the league. This will probably lead to the league getting more coverage from them and more media exposure on the positive aspects of the lague is to be welcomed.

It deserves a topic of its own. I can only imagine how many pages Man Us new sponsor will get when that happens. We should b trying to get away from minnowism.

Anyway, this can only be good news, though they will probably have to give those 2 langers on Off The Ball a crash course on the fact there is actually a domestic league in this country which isn't to be taken the piss out of at all times.

    Good point and true enough.

Anyone any idea what sort of cash Newstalk are putting up for their sponsorship? What are the nitty gritty details?

At least there are sponsors now. Badly needed. Now it's just a matter of the clubs sorting out their own finances.

Off the Ball actually does cover the LoI quite well considering the intrest in it out there.

15 mins on a Wednesday night is what is given a week.

And an hour on the Saturday show.

Its a dedicated sports programme so that is the bare minumum of what they are doing.

I hope this doesnt mean Oisin Langan getting more airtime.

Let's hope it doesn't mean more Roddy Collins.

Of course it does, he's their flagship LoI person.

Anyway, he brings controversial opinion to the thing, I hate him as much as the next man, but his enthusiasm for the LoI is second to none.

He never stops telling anyone who will listen how rubbish he thinks the league is. If the GAA had an equivalent there'd be murder.

He also tries to take credit for bringing a lot of the decent players like Glen Crowe etc as well as acting like he's a matyr. But i do agree with some of the stuff he says. He's like the LOI equivalent of Eamonn Dunphy.
