Redknapp has already said that he will field his weakest possible side because they have more important things to concentrate on now, so if that's the case then I think we should this one even with the injuries.

"The ones who are out are Rio Ferdinand, Anderson, Nani, Rafael, Patrice Evra, Wayne Rooney, Jonny Evans and Ji-sung Park [hamstring injury]."

Neville and Giggs are also slight doubts

    I wouldn't mind seeing this:

    Foster
    Neville
    JOS
    Vidic
    Fabio
    Nani
    Scholes
    Carrick
    Tosic
    Tevez
    Berbatov/Welbeck

    Prediction: Man Utd 2-0 Spurs

I'd almost consider dropping neville and playing Fletcher at right back. We have a much more important premiership game on Tuesday night and we'll need Neville fresh for that. Thankfully, we have almost a week off after that game so we can regroup then. I think the team for tomorrow will be picked based on who we need fit and rested for the West Brom game.

I don't even see this being a match. Doubt you'll see more than 3 of our first team. Getting some points is our most important priority by far.

I'll be very disappointed if both teams field really weak teams as I am going over to the game..Hopefully both managers will have a rethink about it

Eckersley could feature in this on according to SAF.

    UTD from...

Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Foster, Fletcher, Eckersley, Fabio, Chester, Neville, Vidic, O'Shea, Gibson, Possebon, Tosic, Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Tevez, Berbatov, Welbeck, Macheda

    so heres my best guess...

    PIG

    ---Neville,Vidic,Oshea,Fabio

    ----Fletcher,Carrick,Scholes
    Ronaldo
    Tevez
    Berba/Welbeck

maybe Gibson in for one of the middle 3...or 2 up top with fletcher/gibson out wide (where both have been in recent games)
but i think we have enough there to get a result.

yeah - exactly why we won't see many players (according to the post) cause the 3 points on offer against West Brom on Tuesday and much more important

    What I would like to see;

    VDS

    Fletcher
    Vidic
    O Shea
    Fabio

    Ronaldo----Possebon---Scholes---Tosic

    Tevez
    Berbatov

Won't happen though, especially having Fabio,Tosic and Possebon would be a major risk, but why not, that team would still win I think.

  • Registered Users Posts: 792 ✭✭✭KombuchaMshroom

    would like to see:
    vds
    neville o'shea vidic fabio
    ronaldo carrick fletcher tosic
    berbatov tevez

but it will most likely be
    vds
    fletcher neville vidic o'shea
    carrick scholes giggs ronaldo
    tevez berbatov

honestly though i dont think it should matter too much what 11 starts, with gomes, king, dawson, woodgate, hutton and corluka all possibly out can't see anything other than a united win, but would love to see tosic and fabio starting.

is the fa cup not takin seriously by man u any more? i think they will put out their strongest possible 11. west brom next week wont be to hard to get 3 points imo.

In fairness most of the changes we are talking about are forced upon us through injury. Some people just prefer to see youth (fabio) given a chance rather than playing someone out of position ie fletcher at right back.

Im sure united would like to win the FA cup but you have to weigh up everything. West brom game on tue, already in the cc final meaning we have to reschedule a league game on top of the game we are already behind, we have a had a trip to japan mid season, and we already have a load of injuries to deal with.

IMO, the FA cup is not important to us this year, but I think Fergie is still bitter about last year, and may be eyeing all 4 trophies. I expect a weakened team but I expect a team capable of winning.

Well United are through to the final of what is perceived as a lesser cup, so they can't really take it more seriously than that in fairness.

Both teams today will put out patch work teams because of injuries not really either sides fault.

As for West Brom and easy points, they have sorted themselves out at home, started playing 2 up top and have won 3 from 3 at the Hawthorns, United should be firm favourites, I wouldn't take it as granted being 3 easy points also when you factor in Uniteds injuries.

I read an article last night saying something about Harry doing a bit of a u-turn and deciding to play some of the bigger players. Well we will see if its bull or not in about 5hrs.

    I'll go for

    PIG
    --Fletch
    Gaz
    Vida----JOS---
    --Ron---Carrick
    Scholes---Giggs-
    Welbeck----Berba

    But I'd love to see

    PIG
    ---Gaz
    Vida----JOS----Fabio---
    ----Carrick--Possebon--Scholes----
    ---Ronaldo
    Tosic---
    Berba

But it's highly unlikely SAF would start both Fabio AND Tosic.
I'd like to see Poss get a game though

Harry is full of BS. That's a fairly strong Spurs side in fairness.

Looking forward this now. Surprised to see Welbeck start on the wing (or will Tevez start there?), obviously Tosic isn't quite ready to start.

Bale is playing for Spurs, no chance now.

    Fabio woohoo!

Love Lou Macari there - what a tool, as if Fabio's dreamed of debuting in the FA Cup. Methinks Brazilians have more local competitions to dream of...

    Rafael's twin is a fast ****.

    Fine header from Pav

Never thought I'd say this, but was bad from Vidic. Foster could've done better too.

United have started very badly. The midfield seems non-existent.

Was that a spider cam I just saw there at Old Trafford ? Them cameras are animal. Fabio showing the same attacking traits of his brother there.

    Totally agree - very annoying

But the question is is it as annoying as Macari?

Poor defending all over the place for the goal. No pressure on the cross into the goal and Vidic caught on his heels.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

    Scholes is having a nightmare.

Good thing he has another 83 minutes to sort it out.

Superb work from Wellbeck and a cracking tackle from Gunter to deny him.

Not long to go to United's equaliser.
