My boyfriend and I constantly disagree on this, I call it the "controls" (or sometimes the remote or sometimes the remote controls)he calls it the "zapper"..
To me, the Zapper is the thing i have at work for opening the door of the "Lock up" (Garage)

she worked as an au pair in ireland and the house she worked in (irish family) called it the flicker
