Hi I've an eircom broadband connection at home. Lately I've noticed my connection slow down.

When I run a ping on google I get the following
    Pinging www.l.google.com [66.102.9.104] with 32 byte
    Reply from 66.102.9.104: bytes=32 time=175ms TTL=247

    These are my router settings

    Line StateUpModulationDMTData PathInterleave
    DownstreamUpstreamMax Allowed Speed (kbps)2048256SN Margin (dB)28.5020.00Line Attenuation (dB)5.505.00CRC Errors04

From what I understand about Attenuation and SN Margin, these look okay.

Any suggestions what may be happening?

Is it simply congestion at our local exchange, when I originally joined Eircom Broadband, only a few people had broadband in my area.

I'd expect this has multiplied by a good few in the past 12 to 18 months

    Any suggestions?

I was going to to upgrade to a faster line, but I want to make sure its not a problem with the physical line / exchange before I do this
